Budget 0-20k Samsung 860 Evo vs Crucial MX500 - SSD

Hi friends,

I am in the market looking to buy my first ever SSD for my old i3-laptop from 2013.
After much research I have shortlisted these two 2.5 inch SSD's :-

• Samsung 860 Evo - 250GB
• Crucial MX500 - 250GB

Price is definitely a concern, but so are performance and lifetime.

I am confused between the two. Would love to hear all of yours advice!




P.S. I am very new to the world of SSDs.

You won't notice a difference with the laptop you have. Definitely go for the cheaper Crucial MX500 or even the Adata 480GB SSD which is available for almost the same price.

Always go for Samsung. I have like 5-10 samsung drives, no issues. One time I buy adata to check it out, and it conks off in less than a year and takes all the data on it with it.

Either one is fine. Get one which is cheaper from these two.
