The good thing about samsung phones are the camera and build quality. But this is quite overpriced and still runs Android M. Oneplus 3 is a far better options at this price range.

Samsung has stubbornly refused to play the budget category game. They have been stalling that bout since yrs now, and this time it ll surely come to hit them badly. They cannot keep putting in the excuse of 'premium built quality' / 'camera' and expect the sales to roll in.

Moto G5+ will be launched on the same day (March 15), and with SD 625, Nougat, Near Pure Android, 4K recording, Metal built, and Galaxy S7's camera hardware (I am sure Lenovo will botch this, but the possibility of a s.w update threat will remain strong), Samsung A5 will find things very tough. Both these handsets have comparable screens and battery packs.

Apart from IP68 certification, only the lure of Samsung Pay and AMOLED panel may save them to some extent.

Samsung phones are still the most easily available phones in B&M stores. I've seen in many stores, the shopkeepers pushing Samsung phones and most of the buyers do not care about the processor. They just hold the phone in hand and turn on the camera.
My manager (who can be called a tech sound guy) had a long discussion with me last year when buying a phone for his wife (20k budget). Then went ahead and bought A5 for 25k as that was the phone his wife could hold is B&M shop and liked the cam and build.
Sammy indeed needs a reality check in the budget/mid-range segment.

i doubt the g5+ camera will be even close to s7 quality when its a sub 22-25k phone. hardware specs look same but im sure theres a compromise somewhere. im also waiting for the phone though. another thing the a5/a7 is better is the looks department, the black one looks amzing , plus has a flat back with no camera hump too. the moto phones are all ugly.
