Samsung Star S5230 Smileys problem

Hi Guys,

I am having a problem with my Samsung Star S5230.
The smilies dont show up as regular smileys/emoticons but only as dots and lines.Is there a solution for this? (It must exist!).

I have read the different forums and found that it was a common problem but could not find the solution for it. Any suggestions guys? Its urgent!
