Android Samsung Tablet for Kid?

My son has been asking for a tablet for a while now. I promised him one as a gift. I'm considering a samsung tablet due to its brand reputation and durability. I've also heard abt samsung care+, which covers accidental and liquid damage. I'm considering getting it as an add-on, cos my son can be a little clumsy with tech. But I was wondering if it's really worth the extra bucks? Would love to know your thoughts
