Samsung to Launch “the Newest Galaxy GRAND” in India on January 22

Samsung is getting ready for the launch of new smartphones in India next week, and has already sent out invites for a press event held in this regard.

The company notes that “the newest Galaxy” devices are set to be officially launched at the event, but hasn’t provided specific details on the matter as of now.

According to androidos.in, however, the company might be planning the release of either Galaxy Grand or Galaxy S III mini on the local market, based on previous rumors on the matter.

Both of these devices are part of the company’s mid-range family of handsets, and might prove appealing options for users in the country. Both Galaxy Grand or Galaxy S III mini run under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system at the moment.

I was really hoping that they would release S3 mini, but they are going to launch Grand instead :(
S3 mini could have been a real killer had it been launched here. Sometimes just dont understand these business decisions. I think its listed on ebay for around 19k but an official entry was needed. Now let's see how much they price this Grand.

Well the price for Samsung Galaxy Grand is 21.5k which I think is competitive. What do you guys think given the specs and screen size?

It's indeed 22k as mentioned by samsung, it will shurely hit 20k street price in a month or two.
But guess what they are using the same broadcom chipset which they are now using in SII Plus.
So IMO better is to buy SII Plus since it will be cheaper as well as using the same resolution on smaller screen leading to more pixel density with the amoled display.

Yes surely the street price would settle down below 20K but the low res screen is a downer. Any idea about the possible pricing of S2 plus? Any chances of the original S2 price being reduced?

Yes. When S4 get launched.

21.5k. Ha, 15k was fine for this device. 21.5k is a joke. They are being greedy. They could have easily sold the Note I at 21.5k if they wanted. Still a much better device than this.

How does this work.. wont you already be in a call if SIM1 is busy so what the point of forwarding to SIM2 .. You can't speak to two people on the same phone.
