Samsung Wave GT-S8500 Battery Life!

Hi mates :)

I have been using a Samsung Wave GT-S8500 for the last 5 months but over the last month or so the phone's battery life has been bothering me a lot. The phone is seeming to run out of charge ever so often. I give the batter a good charge in the morning till the battery is full but it dwindles pretty darn fast over a days usage.

My usage is primarily calls and a whole lot of texting. I was using a Nokia N72 prior to this and I really like this phone, but the battery life is making me sulk these days. Anyone using the Samsung Wave having similar problems here? Any pointers to solve this problem?

whenever i use the phone for games or applications the battery drains very fast and i have to charge it everyday....... otherwise daily calling of around 1 hour and watching movie while travelling daily for 2 hours approx, my battery lasts for 2 days......

i keep the brightness to max all the time....... i am pretty much satisfied with this......

some pointers....

1. keep the brightness low,

2. keep a dark wallpaper, reduces the power consumption drastically,

3. keep GPRS and GPS off.
 
Thanks Devesh for the reply and pointers you provided. It seems my phone's battery is dwindling fast for the last month or so. I don't use the phone for running games at all and my total daily call hours hover about the 1-2 hours mark, still having to charge the phone daily, sometimes even twice a day as phone starts beeping for low charge. :(
 
If you have activated GPRS and have any apps that keep syncing in the background, disable em, sucks too much life. My SGS was going down in 15 hours, disabled the gprs using apps and it goes on for 2 days now with heavy messaging.

Hav u upgraded to latest FW 1.0.2????? My Wave works for good 2.5-3 days with medium usage...... without music playback it does do 4 days as well on 5 brightness.
