This is another interesting development, but I wonder if the 3.3' screen will suffice, but a great option.

I am not able to open the video at work, hopefully you guys will be luckier!
It looks like the Samsung Wave S8500 we reviewed last year is in the process of losing its wannabe smartphone status and becoming a bona fide Android device. Some enterprising Polish hackers were able to successfully boot the Galaxy S' build of Android 2.2.1 on the Bada-equipped Wave by exploiting some security holes. The project is still in the early stages and facing some hurdles with RAM access and CPU drivers, but it appears to be gaining momentum. Android on the Wave is a worthy proposition since the phone is quite powerful (1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM), yet small (3.3-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display), and features top notch materials plus build quality, as well as an excellent camera. Check out the mod in action in the video above.

GGGGrrrrrrrreeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaattt. Looking exactly for this. BADA sux big time. But with Android, Wave will be a top knotcher.

arent't there sucky 3" android phones???? so how should 3.3" not suffice? The internals of that phone are fantastic...

I suppose 3.3" is good enough for Android. Is the point of objection is about having a 800x480 resolution in that kind of screen, which will kind of make things appear smallish in Android?

the video should have been shown from start to end with booting of froyo. would have made more sense.

this is seriously good news. project on booting andriod on wave was going long time ago, but i guess funds came in by trickle to have a positive outcome.

If this goes ahead smooth and we have a customised rom for wave... i say this is gonna be one proceless device.

If people was happy about having 960 x 640 resolution on 3.5" screen, why is 800 x 480 on 3.3" screen such a bad prospect. From my own side by side comparison, the 3.3" SuperAMOLED on Wave looked much better than the 4" one on Galaxy S because of the smaller pixels.

excellent..always wondered y no one was able boot it to android as wave was having almost same specs as galaxy...

the sucky 3' android phones dont have similar hardware to the wave, and hence the 3.3' although enough may not do justice, IMHO 3.5' is the sweet spot, cause 4' makes it a tad uneasy to handle, but then a couple of my friends are very happy with their streaks too!

thats why i was saying how come 3.3" is bad? it's great except for people who cant see

meh I've used Android on 2.8" screen @ 640x480 and still the experience was pretty good. This is good news for Wave owners, if this gets ported to the Samsung Wave 533 we might even have a cheap Android QWERTY :D

this has been into development for a quiet long now.

but will result into failure. It is not optimized and most users will find themselves running bada for better performance and battery.

bada OS is not bad, the phone OOB is very capable and vfm.

the screen looked much better than SGS as pointed by Lord Nemesis.
