Sansa Clip+ vs Nationite n2 buy

i had a sansa clip+ but is history now :(
i desperately need a new music player now, but am very confused between the sansa clip+ and the Nationite n2 :|

If you have experienced/know about these two players, put down what you know about these players and what in your opinion would make either one of the two the better player.

i liked everything about the sansa clip+ apart from its battery life, i hear the n2's battery lasts longer and sounds incomparably better than the sansa clip+.
 
I am not sure about the sound quality (quite neutral in the case of Clip+) but the N2 does have a better battery life than a Clip+ and more power to drive higher impedance earphones/headphones.

OT, strange that no one among TE's audiophiles did a review on this player.
 
Sorry Guys, I replied to his PMs before this thread was started. So here's our conversation:

N2 is not slow at all, it's pretty quick.

No support for file tagging in N2 :( .

Clip+ is a better overall player. Since you've used clip+ you'll find it easier to adjust to, but remember to ROCKBOX it, as a result the battery life will be > 18hrs.

From purely SQ point of view I personally found the N2 to be better sounding than the Clip+ . Especially the soundstage was definitely better . With almost all the IEMs I tried with N2 , ie - TF10,RE262,Brainwavz M2 /M3 they sound better than my Fuze which sounds same as the Clip+. The high impedance IEMs like RE262 benefit a lot with N2s amping power.

Also the custom EQ / BBE settings on the N2 do help in getting that missing factor from a particular earphone . Like with TF10 I could bring up the mids and do the same with bass and treble when using RE262 . The custom EQ on Clip+ isn't as good . Battery life of N2 is also definitely better than the Clip+ by 3-4 hrs .

In UI and form factor department , Clip+ wins by a good margin due to slightly bigger screen , more easy to use buttons etc . Having said that , the N2 UI isn't very crappy or bad .Its fairly decent , takes some time getting used but its still much better than using a Nationite Sflo UI .

I haven't had any issues with FLAC files etc. The only issue I had faced 2-3 times is random lock ups/ freezing when using 8GB microSD card .It was solved with a reset.

Overall for the performance it offers for the price, the N2 is definitely a good player provided it suits your requirements. The Clip+ is more versatile and a perfect match box sized jukebox whereas the N2 is targeted at a particular segment of audiophile buyers who don't mind compromising on the UI etc for slightly more power and better SQ.

^ +1 . No tag browsing , only folders .Can be little irritating for files with long names , starting with the album name :P
 
That should be fine, as long as i can organise the music to a decent level :P

but the gapless playback shouldn't be something very irritating i hope. Anyway thanks alot
 
I have some of the Pink Floyd albums and Opeth albums, which are gapless and frankly, even a tiny second of pause between tracks kills the flow. If you are like me, yes! lack of gapless can be a bit irritating. Otherwise, not!
 
I remember while transferring music to iPods via iTunes there was an option to select gapless for an album . Worked so perfectly for all those live sets I would download and split using a cue splitter.

by gapless here, do u mean the tracks play one after the other or actual holds in between the tracks??
 
Gapless albums tend to "flow" from end of one track into beginning of another. For an album which is not gap-less, a second's gap between tracks does nothing. But, with gapless albums, the gap between tracks interrupts the seamless flow or continuation, like a pause introduced in the middle of a song.
