sansa e270 - won't switch on/ won't get connected to PC

Hi guys,

I bought this sansa e270(refurb) from froobie.com via KMD about two months back.

It was working just fine.

But now, all of a sudden it's not switching on and not even getting recognized by the computer...

The player was charged to full battery state an hour before this problem showed up, so its not because of battery power running out ....

Please help with some solution to get it back working...

Try holding down the power button for 20 seconds.

I somehow managed to get it in to recovery mode and installed a fresh firmware.. Now, the 6GB partition of the player gets detected when I connect it to the computer, making music/videos/data transfer possible. Also the battery icon shows its charged to its full capacity.

But, after its removal from the computer when I try to switch it on it gives this message - " Battery too low - system shutdown " and switches off.

I hope there is some solution for this AT LEAST. Its been hardly two months now, I DO NOT want it go wasted.

So... solutions are welcome!

Try opening it up, removing the battery, cleaning the contacts (battery as well as the player contacts), and then reinstalling the battery. It should work then. If it doesn't, its likely the battery has died.
