I sent my sapphire 4670 to RMA as it was giving vpu recovery error. After 10 days, those guys(aditya infotech, chennai) said that they don't have 4670 right now and its bit difficult for them to give the money back - as i got from rahul, mumbai, and iif it done they will give the money back to rahul only. So i asked for 4770 or 4850 as alternative. They dont have 4770 in stock and offering 4850 (512mb)for and additional 2500 (apprx). Should I go for this ??

please reply fast

ask them to send you new HD4850 from distributor. if you get it from RMA, there is a good chance that it could be a rebranded one.

@sathyanaidu: 4670 is for around Rs.4500

@desiibond : Aditya infotech is the indian distributor of Sapphire ; how can I make it sure that it is a new card not a refurbished one ??

JUst ask them, how much warranty will be left with the 4850 you will get.

Rebranded ones will have only some 3~6 months usually.

Are you sure ????? why the hell i will go for a rebranded one with 6month warranty - not me - no one will go for it

U'll get full 2 years warranty on the card. :D Go for it...

This happened when i got 8600GT in place of 7600GS by paying 800 bucks...

Any upgrades in the event of non availability of stocks get full warranty atleast it does in Rashi. So, Aditya would also have the same policy.

@clown_abhi: I thought sapphire has 3 years warranty //lol // I hope by tomorrow I will know the exact additional amount need to be paid. He assured me it will be within 2.5k anyway. So if it happened so - the sapphire 4850 512mb will cost me around 7k (4500+2500).

aditya infotech guys r generous persons.. i know the regional managaer over there. if u got any problems do ping me.. will help u sort out the problem. he helped me in upgrading from my 4850 to 4890... 5.5k..some three months ago...

Oh, then u get ur 3 years full warranty...:ashamed:
And as Hailstone said, do bargain, it works charm if u do it right. 2500 looks a little high considering the current prices of the 4800 series and since it is an upgrade not a retail purchase. :cool2:

in such cases, where u are asked to pay some additional amount, u get full new warranty. Just make sure get a new Invoice with today's date.
The invoice should be like u are buying a new card from the dealer, with full payment.

@clown_abhi and @geek ashish : thanks for your suggestions guys

@clown_abhi : you have this card already. does it comes with dvi-vga adaptor ? as my lcd does not have dvi :(

How is this card perform in Oblivion & Crysis ? (I can read countless review - but like to know from a TEians - hands on exp.)

my card is ready - I will collect it tomorrow. I have to pay an additional 2k.It is a brand new card, cashmemo will be given in my name and i will get full warranty.

Yes, if you can afford the extra 2.5k, go for it. It is a very powerful card and gobbles up anything you throw at it.

I got the new 4850 with an additional 2k costing the the card as 6.5k. Its brand new with full warranty and paper.Tried few games. but the card shows as 4800 series in GPUZ.
