Hi guys.

I need a new HDD quick. I need to buy it tomorrow itself.
My problem is I haven't installed a SATA drive before

I'm looking to buy a 500 GB drive Seagate preferred or maybe WD

A few questions:
1 Will a config of the below work?
SATA HDD
IDE HDD
IDE CD drive

2 I know SATA drives come in diff speeds. Can this cause compatibality issues?
My mobo is Biostar 865GV Micro 775
link: BIOSTAR

3 I've installed Windows numerous times but only on IDE drives. Is there any additional step for installing to SATA drives?
Need an answer quick guys so please help.
Going to Lamington tomorrow so if anyone knows of any good deals atm please let me know.

Man you don't have sata port on yur mobo so buying a sata drive is useless for you....

EDIT : oh ya sry my bad.... you just have to plug in power cable in drive n u'll get one extra wire that you have to attach with drive n port on mobo.... it's very simple man.....

It's actually my friend's PC. I've seen the mobo and it does have SATA ports. The link I provided clearly mentions 2 SATA connectors. It just doesn't say what speed SATA it supports.

There wont be any issues. its backward compatible to earlier 1.5G SATA
