Greeny has been eyeing Gannu for quite some time now and finally he's found a proper way to express his feelings in public without turning too many heads.
 
I am out of words.... the fact that the rule set reeks of gramatical errors and faults gives me a idea of the 'standard' of the college.

And one big WTF?

What exactly are they trying to prevent with these rules?

Grammatical errors happen everywhere. Esp. in most college related papers.. even in question papers :P

Do you know how many university ranks the 3 colleges run by Jeppiar produce every year? Academic-wise, i'd recommend those colleges any time. (Sathyabama is now a deemed university mind you)

My sis studied at Sathyabama(when it was under Madras University).

Actually it is more like a military-rule-following kinda college.
Its good for 2 types of students.
1) Students who study a lot, because the facilities and faculty are very good.
2) Students whose parents want to keep their kids on a tight leash.
I am NOT defending any JPR college, but the basic point of any Jeppiar college is to provide you education. they have good well-paid staff, good facilities.
If you have a love affair in college, you wont be able to concentrate on studies, and god knows what else you'll do, so hence the ban on any male-female contact.
AFAIK you can take only 3 hols per semester i think. Why? So you can sit in college and study instead of cutting college and wasting your time..
Usage of college busses is compulsary for every student. Why? because every parent can be sure that the student goes to college and comes back on time.

If you are an easy-going person who likes to enjoy college life even just a little bit, any Jeppiar college isnt for you.

But i have to say , there is this stigma attached to guys talking to girls all over Tamil nadu. Weird psyche, they think that a relationship between the opposite sexes invariably results in a baby :S. The whole Sathyabhama group is infamous for stuff like this, not the first time i've heard of this...there was a sting operation by Times now on these colleges. You can watch it here

what nonsense?:no: well,I had my studied(BE ECE) at Karunya Engg college coimbatore.it is run by some southern tamilnadu pentecostal christian fanatic(dinakaran &co).the rules for us that time are ridiculos!we have to pay for the grass in the college!it is from 1997-2001,this batch got strike,made college authority shook their heads before us.

what about mathammal sheela college?In TN few colleges esp protestent christian management -it is taliban.not to say that these poor tamilians almost follow these rules:@.because,tamilians are very conservative may be the main reason.only few colleges like VLB janaki ammal etc are worth studying for a normal teenager.the other colleges are simply dont worth the $$$

oh!sorry.I meant if we pass through the garden,and some "grass" fell down,we have to pay Rs100/- :lol:

pathetic college it was!also,compulsory christian prayers for 1/2 hour!tie blazer,shoes,clean-shave.it was like a school(which we broke with strike!).

now karunya is still the pathetic strict ways.

And why VLB alone dude??? Whats wrong with PSG, KCT???

Amrita doesn't live up to those standards [myself having did my grad there!!!]; but a lot better than Sathyabhama; :)

Hey I remember that :ohyeah: - Its actually by Velammal College guys - my immediate seniors. It got spread thro Yahoo groups...

It was to imitate the Principal who had a weird accent and was concerned only about ID card and nothing else...

His dressing sense was out of the world (sarcasm)

BTW...Velammal Is one of the best engineering colleges in TN. Its very good for studies and also strict - but not crossing the line. Engineering colleges need to be bit strict for the benefit of the students (not like Satyabama nonsense), students realize this only after passing out.

Its virtually impossible to bunk class/taking leaves in VEC. It had the best univ. results for many years and great campus placement ratio
 
its more of an exception rather than a rule.. i've been a part of one of those tamil nadu engg colleges.. and have had frnds in almost all the other places.. (save for sathyabama)

as usual its a small minority of morons running a few colleges who are giving this whole 'impression'
 
@gannu:yeah for sure,most christian management colleges are worth TALIBAN in tamilnadu,add to it ,the conservative nature of TN ppl.

though CATHOLIC colleges are exceptions.these new funded CSI/Pentecostal managed colleges are where life is miserable :roll:

yeah for sure,PSG,SNR sons all are good in coimbattoor.
