but how did you manage to get the Sony Ericsson engraving back?

The engraving must have been quite deep on the stock cover. Must have lasted until all the lapping was done.

Good job there! :)

I first used the common 200 or 300 grit paper to remove all the black colour and then used a 1500 grit paper to make it shine to perfection... I guess i can still achieve some shine on it..

Here is the pic of 1500 grit paper i used

Nice again :P get higher grit, then finish off with some decent metal polish :P

Amazing work buddy.

I tried to the same earlier to my iPod touch metal back. Tried to polish it with Brasso metal polish, but ended up with some minor scratches.

Sanding seems to be a good option after looking at your job. I have no idea about sanding and sand papers. Any info on how you did your's, would be helpful for me. Plzz tell me what you did briefly so that I can try it on my iPod's back again.

Thanks.
As for what i did, i just bought a basic "300 grit paper" for metal(Rs.10) and made use of it. Then i bought the "1500 grit paper" which is very fine for Rs.15. Now i need even more fine grit paper of say 2500 to make it look like mirror :P
Oh and also used a metal cream which costed me Rs.40 in the local market. It was very simple and fun.

Good Luck :hap2:
