PC Peripherals Screen blinks when switches in the house are turned on or off..

I have a 20" Dell IN2020m which a bought just over a year ago, i have just moved to a new house, and i have noticed that whenever someone turns on a light or a fan anywhere in the house my Monitor goes blank for a second?i have confirmed this, is it because for some faulty wiring ?please advice.
 
Get it checked by an electrician, seems to be some kind of disturbance. Worst thing can be a little short happenining somewhere in the wirings
 
Yes, its because of faulty wiring. I face a similar problem with my samsung 46 inch tv with the DTH when connected only thru component connection. I stopped using the DTH witht he big tv :P
 
I had the same problem
When i turn on any switches in the house,my PC or TV goes off
Even during night when lets say if i turn on my TV,all the tubelights/bulbs in the house go off....so yeah strange things started happening :p

I got it checked and it turned out to be a wiring problem in the main apartment meter
Got it replaced/fixed and everything is sorted now....
