ok i need more space :ohyeah: (dont we all)
anyways so i thought id buy the 1.5tb seagate from the US, price comes up to around 6.5k which is think the most economical in terms of space/price.

my current 750gb seagate is free of all those firmware issues thankfully :ashamed: but is this drive still prone to that issue?

so do any of yall own this drive? how is it ? will i need to worry about it dying on me cuz of the firmware issues ?

plz do not suggest other manufacturers ,640gb, 1tb drives etc etc
its either this (1.5tb) or nothing at all an... im guessing this is the only 1.5tb drive avail in the mkt right now ....the WD 2TB is way overpriced at 300$ :S

I have been using a 1.5TB since the last 2.5 months....Huge data transfers...No issues till now:)
Ordered 2 more from ebay recenty and have not faced any issues in any of the drives so far:hap2:
Buy it dude...at 6.5k its one of the cheapest staorage out there with 32MB cache:ohyeah:

You can buy it... check the serial no on Seagate site.... If its affected by the buggy firmware then update the firmware first before storing your data on it...

Does seagate site specify which serials are affected by buggy software?:S

Rave bot a 1.5TB HDD and he will giving it for RMA shortly.

Darth, that drive probably's from the older infected lot. AFAIK the newer ones're shipped with a different firmware. Quite a few users who did not report a problem. Yet. :)
