WD SE16 640GB still beats Seagate 7200.11 640GB 32MB in many fields..

Conclusion

I'll keep this brief. The 7200.11 writes faster than the SE16, this should be due to its additional cache. However, there was that odd write access time test, not sure why it was so weird. Didn't seem to have an effect on the write speed itself, so I wonder if it was just a fluke.

The SE16 reads faster than the 7200.11 if you turn off AAM (or even reduce it). Access times are pretty abysmal on both sides, but at least the SE16 can be improved with just AAM settings.

It's pretty obvious that the drive to get is the SE16. Compared to the 7200.11, it has AAM (so, inherently it is quieter), vastly superior access times with AAM off, read times are just as good if not better, and write speeds are only marginally slower.

I wish I had gotten two of each of these drives for RAID testing. Sorry, fellas.

i quote 8 gb cossiar for 875 r.s

and 16 gb 1600 r.s not 2gb :P

yeah i bought the whole system from delta...though they probably wont ship anything..i guess they don't have any time..you can't even find a place to stand in the shop on weekends...
i talked to the shop guy(naveen) and he knows saiyan and about techenclave very well..

Ofcourse i was talking about the RAM!! I myself bought 2 4GB SanDisk Mini Cruzers for Rs.600 a piece!
Damn, if its 4K including taxes, i want this one!! It is better than the WD AAKS then i presume?
 
u will get transcend 2gb for 480 in chennnai......there is a shop near thirumaile railwaystation.....rk mutt road......

i brought one 4m there for ma frind.....

btw, checked again its Rs.3600 in delta. Now lets bug our TE dealer for even better price :P.
