Just returned from Delta tonight. the WD 640gb is out of stock. told me that it'd be available on friday. wouldnt buy it from there anyway coz he didnt give me Saiyan's pricing :|

Its OK price considering WD offerings usually sell for ~150-200 buck cheaper compared to Seagate... Nevertheless if one can get Saiyan's quote of 3.6k then it would have been awesome... :ohyeah:

I heard the WD scores a notch over the Seagate. True??

I'd want to invest in one. Saiyan, pl get me one, will you?? :P

Their shop prices are bit cheaper than the price mentioned in their site, also they might have given special price for saiyan :P. They dont trade online.

I know, I was indeed talking about Seagate (@3.6k) what I meant was that its a good deal even if its slightly lower in performance compared to AAKS... And yes WD is usually priced somewhat lower than Seagate but since AAKS is scarcely available & such a performance/ in demand drive its price is not lower than Seagate...

an exception may be but historically I'd noticed WD drives to be ~ 150-200 bucks cheaper than Seagate..:cool2: :cool2:
 
^Man, when did you check it ? i was searching all over ritchie incl. sethia y'day and got a horrible price which i don't want to mention it over here :|

^ohyeah, thanks for pointing me out. AACS was available around the same price.

Seagate 640Gb @ 3.6k is a better buy than AACS @ 3.7k.
 
actually 2 weeks back, Samta Infotech (KAJ plaza) told me price of WD640 is 3.6K NET. But he was not sure with the model. I asked him to check with his contact over phone if its AAKS, but he didnt get more info from his distri. He also told he has only one model with him...it maybe AACS or AAKS

If i wanted to buy, i would have got it for 50-100 less

I was in a hurry so didnt pester him more to find the exact model

Hence I didn't blow this price update here t TE as it might be a false alarm for AAKS

So anyone wants to buy at this price irrespective of model, PM me
