Storage Solutions Seagate 7200.11 bad sectors..

I have a 500 GB seagate 32mb cache 7200.11, seem to have got bad sectors on it is there any tool recommended to mark them or diagonize my hdd ? Also need a new 500/640 GB STABLE hdd which is recommended ?

download HDTUNE , its a freeware and scan your hdd , its recomended u back up the data asap and then give the hdd for replacement.......seagate hdd replacement shouldnt take more than a week.....

HDtune is showing a damaged sector....any suggestions for a stable drive...i am using a zebronics 400W power supply does that affect my hdd in anyway

seagates are stable. Every brand can have bad sectors, get which ever u want

ya every brand can have bad sectors.Its just luck, how long HDD stays.Only precaution we can take is good quality SMPS.

Heh, he has a Mercury SMPS and he is adamant that its not the SMPS at fault....

careful handling to avoid mechanical shock, good earthing for mains power and good psu AFAIK.
