Want as much storage as a laptop in your Android tablet? Soon tablets may get 500GB storage for your data with the new 500GB Ultra mobile hard Disk Drive from Seagate.
Seagate has announced its new Ultra Mobile HDD for tablets which is just 5mm thin and offers 500GB capacities. The 5400RPM drive uses SATA 6gbps interface with max transfer speed up to 600MB/sec.
Seagate has also added Zero-gravity sensors (ZGS) which detect if a system is in free fall within 60 milliseconds and parks the drive head to help prevent damage.
Seagate has not announced any products which will use the drive yet, but we can expect the drive to be used in high end Android tablets soon.
