So , as the thread says. How are the seasonic as a brand in PSU's ? Pricing will be similar to Corsair , and similar warranty too. Leave your opinions in the thread as well as the poll.

How is Seasonic as a brand in PSU's? That's like asking how is Intel as a brand in CPU's. xD.
They are awesome, easily some of the best PSU's there are out there. :)
A lot of well known corsair and antec's are actually seasonic OEM's...

One of the better OEMs. For starters, the reknown Corsair HX620 is a rebadged Seasonic unit. :P

Seasonic are right up there. Just a notch below PC P&C I would say!

Yeah? I thought Seasonic was the OEM for PC P&C PSUs. :\

Actually, you are correct :P

From what I managed to gather from a bit of googling, unlike most other firms (including Corsair), that tend to grab existing designs and tweak 'em to suit their tastes, PC P&C come up with their own designs.

Corsair units are Seasonic OEM. And well, Corsair has established a name for itself in terms of customer service, so practically speaking why would anyone prefer a relatively newer and less established company?

However, there is also this certain dissatisfaction about Corsair product prices hiked for no reason lately. So unless the Seasonic prices are drool worthy, its a no show.

Whoa! Hold on there...

Corsair has gotten established in India. Seasonic are like Granddaddies compared to them :P

Wasnt that company acquired by OCZ, or am I confusing it with another OEM?

Yep they have been. PC P&C provide consultancy for OCZ branded products now.

Sorry if my choice of words made a different meaning than intended. Am well aware of Seasonic's reputation.

But what I meant was "established in India". Now with that said Corsair customer support really needs no justification. And from what best I know, Seasonic does not operate in India, correct me if I'm wrong though. Hence if they start now, they'd be relatively new and would not match Corsair's support standards. =\

Seasonic makes great PSU's. My previous Antec Neo 500 was a seasonic.

Well, Not all of them even if you are talking about just the HX series. My Corsair HX1000 is a Channel Well OEM.

SeaSonic is a great brand, but I feel OCZ/PC P&C is better, they have kept up with new models and atleast they prefer single rail design. Specially the Silencer line.

Oh and before you point out, some silencers ARE built by Seasonic, its just that I dont find them retailing their own single rail solutions

It's not as simple as "XYZ Units is a rebadged Seasonic Unit". Seasonic is given specs and tolerances by Corsair, even tho the design and manuf is by Seasonic. If you research a bit, you will see this true of all PSU makers. A few supply to all big brands, as well as sell very low cost ones. The difference is the components and the quality process. - Cheers :D

Some good read up material on PSU's is -> Power | Hardware Secrets

For Corsair: VX550, TX750 & 850, HX1000 are made by Channel Well Technology. The rest are typically sourced from Seasonic.
