    • 80K

  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • Monitor 1 - Dell Ultrasharp U2724DE (1440p, 120Hz, 27" IPS panel)

  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU - Intel Core i5 12400 (~12k)
    • Motherboard - Asus Prime H610M-E D4 (~6.2K).
    • GPU - None for now. Will preferabbly buying RTX 5060Ti 16GB when it launches in Q1 2025.
    • RAM - 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (~2.3K). Will buy another 16GB stick down the line
    • Monitor - Will be reusing current one.
    • PSU - Corsair CX550 550W (~3.5K)
    • AIO: None
    • SSD: Crucial P3 Plus 500GB (~2.7K). Will buy 1TB SATA SSD down the line.
    • Case: DeepCool CH370. Like the minimalistic design and ventilation. Don't need RGB fans. Preferring only mATX cases
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • CPU - 5060 8GB or 5060Ti 16GB GPU
    • RAM - 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
    • SSD - 1 TB SATA SSD

Without the GPU the above build is coming around ~31K - 32K. I can spend around ~45K-50K for GPU when the new models launch in Q1 2025. I also considered R5 5600, R5 5600X processors on AM4 build but the 12400 performs better comes with iGPU and feels sufficient for my use case. I won't be upgrading CPU or GPU for next 4-5 years. May be will get Core i5 14500 CPU in 3-4 years if 12400 starts becoming bottleneck.

Really looking forward to your views and comments. I would also love to talk to you directly or even meet in person if you are based in Lucknow.

Not sure how much 5060 will perform, but RTX 5070 is gonna cost 60k to 70k. plan accordingly, also it's still 8gb if I am not wrong. at least try to go for 5070ti if possible as I can see you can spend a bit more and get it.

I checked out benchmarks for the games I play on RTX 4060Ti on 1440p and they are about 60Fps on that card. I am assuming RTX 5060Ti will be atleast 10% bump from 4060Ti and the 16GB Vram will help in longevity. RTX 5070 will require me to spend additional 20k. I just don't want to overspend on something I won't be able to utilize or make will use of. According to leaks the RTX 5070 will be 12GB. Source

Potential bottleneck…. Go with a 3080 or something…..even 3070ti would do. You can invest it in ddr5 16gigs
M.2 nvme 512gb & invest in mobo pls you can oc it.
No point in 50 series considering your other specs.
U can outperform it with lower budget.

Does the i5 14500 performs better than 5700x3d or 5950x for their respective use cases?

Well the 14500 scores 31860 in CPU mark and 5700x3d scores 26371. Reference:- https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5835vs5884/Intel-i5-14500-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5700X3D

Few advantages I see in Intel LGA 1700 platform is the low priced entry point with 12400F and upgradability to 14th Gen in future. I am not sure if 14th Gen processors will still be available 4-5 years down the line when I look to upgrade.

As far as AM4 is concerned the only upgradability option is 5700x3d. I won't be needing 5950x for any of my use case which are GPU heavy.

In that case is it worth to invest in a DDR4 LGA1700 motherboard or a DDR5 LGA1700. For 12400F I don't see any performance gains with DDR5. Not sure about 14500.

Can you share references on where you found the bottleneck ? Of all the benchmark videos I have seen on YT. The 12400F does not get bottleneck even with 4070 Super and 4070Ti Super.

There is a 10% performance gain for the 12400F with DDR5. For the K unlocked processors, it's about 15-20% increase in performance with DDR5 memory compared to DDR4.

I added a H610M DDR5 mobo and 1 stick of 16GB DDR5 4800MHz to your build and it only increased the cost by 1-2k. The total cost came to around 34k compared to your 32k.

So I feel it is worth it to future proof as games get more demanding, they'll make use of the increased memory bandwidth (already visible in some games).

The i5 11400/F with DDR4 3200 has a max memory bandwith of 50 GB/s while the i5 12400/F with DDR5 4800 has a max memory bandwidth of 76.8 GB/s. (Sourced from official Intel specs pages)
That's a 50% increase in memory bandwidth.

Can you share references on where you found the bottleneck ? Of all the benchmark videos I have seen on YT. The 12400F does not get bottleneck even with 4070 Super and 4070Ti Super.

50 series are expected to be a premium ofc

Only happens on Spider-Man remastered when ray tracing is on. Doesn’t it seem more or less related to ray tracing implementation on that specific game itself. Doesn’t happen in any other game.
12400F does not bottleneck with RTX 4090 also. At 1080 it might some times but as we bump up to 2K & 4K the overhead is moved from CPU to GPU and everything becomes more GPU bound at higher resolution.

I see. Then with DDR5 the question comes should one be fine with 4800 M/T or should push to 6000 M/T to see the real gains. In most of the new games the real gains are seen in CL30 6000 M/T ones. The price difference between them is around ~Rs 1500
