Less than 10K Secondary Smart Phone

Well , Since my flagship S3 is not flagship anymore and it is persisting with issues, I have decided to invest in a good backup phone.

Budget is at max 10K. Will not be extending this.

I read a lot into Lumia 520 and there are people who hate it and people who are using it with acceptable level. Updates look like till Jan 2015 so that looks good.

A: No Samsung

A: Required.
7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
A: NA
8. Preferred connectivity options? (3G, Wifi, Edge etc).
A: 3G.
9. What is your intended use for this phone(internet, camera, multimedia, mails, etc)?
A: Good calling ability, Email, Music
10. Any other requirements?
A: NA
11. If you have already considered a phone then please mention the model.

Quite true. But I wanted a phone where I dont have to spend a lot of time making it good. WP8 despite its flaws works good.

^^ No offense but these Chinese phones is like buying a lottery ticket. You really don't know if your phone will fail as the failure rates of such phones is higher than MNC phones. Another issue is whether you will actually get any service with these small companies.

There are tons of horror stories of parts unavailable for most phones for brands like Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo and ICE etc.

I did not want to be running to service stations for my secondary phone. I wanted a phone which can help me entertain and remain connected to mail.

L520 is probably one of the best in under 10K department.
