Please help.

Use fevi quick, but be very careful while applying, i suggest apply a thin layer on the broken piece and fix it to the PCB

HOpe everyhting gets fine for you. I had such a disaster when my 731gb of games setups were lost due to the same reason as yours.. I had tried fevi quick, but was in vain.

^fevi quick will work, but it must be applied very carefully and special care should be taken so that it doesn't touch the sata connectors

or you can do one thing give me all your data as backup :P

yeah best thing is to take backup and give it for rma

Guys will they entertain warranty, they might just reject it saying physically damage :(

why should he mention that its physically damaged

dark star has now used feviquick and they cant come to know whether its damaged or not

IF you want to RMA it, just give it to them, they dont even bother to check whether its physically damaged or not, they will make a note of it, will give you 15 to 20 days lead time to get the replacement, and den they will provide you with a CERTIFIED REPAIRED HDD which itself will be dead within one month of use

But what if they inspect carefully

Another option if you can't RMA the drive, fix fevi-quick on the sata cable as well, and fix it to the HDD. A permanent solution :P

Dude, keep backups for all the data you'd want. Esp. those snaps which cannot be replicated by other means. Movies, games and music can be sourced from friends (unless those are rare ofc).

There is no point in whining over the spilt milk. Take this as a warning and start taking backups.

You can try your luck with an RMA but there is no certainty that they will replace it considering this is physically damaged.

Alternatively, you can try getting a computer repair / service center replace the whole molex connector.

My 1tb seagate barracuda 7200.12 was dead (used only 3 months), and so I went to RMA centre, they took it, didnt even check that drive, they just said that I will be getn replacement drive within 20 days. I waited for almost 2 months, after that I got a call from them to pick up my HDD from that centre. I brought it (certified repaired hdd), used it hardly for 6 days, again it failed. I again went to rma centre, they took it, noted it, and said 15 days. This time I got a call from them in 15 days and I got my 1tb repaired certified hdd. To my surprise, this one also failed within 1 week. So its still lying in my house. I wont bother to RMA any hdd in future. So i purchased a new 1tb hdd and using it since 6 months, works like a charm. No probs yet.

I cant comment on your situation, coz LUCK is also a factor which plays very imp role in HDD issues

If you are lucky and have got a good replacement drive then its bound to work fine for several months or years... but depends....

couldn't you have forced them to give you a new hdd since the refurbs were constantly failing ? damn so having warranty on hdd is as good as not having any :(

yeah man you are right , HDD RMA is mere a headache. We never get a new HDD in replacement. It can happen only in some cases, if the model of your HDD is not available in certified repaired bunch which is a rare case.

HDD is all about luck bro

If the RMA doesn't work, you can try putting a casing on the HDD and use it as an external drive (till it completely dies)

guyz as said earlier RMA has luck factor

now i had rma'ed my seagate 500gb hdd 1.5 yrs ago and got a certified repaired hdd and thank god i havent had any problems till date and hope i dont have any problems in the future also
