Sell Spica and get a Motorola Milestone ?

So I decided to switch over to Android and got myself a Spica and am loving it (or loving Android rather)
Having said that, I am very disappointed with the On screen keyboard on the android and as a heavy email/sms user am finding it difficult to manage

Was considering the idea of selling off the spica and getting a Motorola Milestone/Droid instead

But am a bit apprehensive if the 550mhz proccy on the milestone would be laggy vs the 800 mhz on the Spica..
Any milestone/drooid users care to comment?

From whatever I have read about Milestone, it performs very well even though the proc is clocked at 550 MHz. Infact, the performance is almost as good as that on a 1 GHz Nexus One.

You might wanna checkout Swype before upgrading. I know it can't match QWERTY, but is very fast and intelligent. And actually you might end up saving a lot of money :)

If you want something cheap , there was an LG model for around 17-18k , with Android and QWERTY keyboard , forgot the exact model no. Though that had a ~ 500 Mhz processor only .

hmm it says "approx" price and "please call to discuss price" hahaha what a scam... is this site any good? seen it being mentioned multiple times on TE...

Android stock keyboard sucks big time and that's a fact. On my phone I use Swype and HTC_IME keyboard in tandem and they are good. But pity you can't use them on Samsung at least not the HTC one.

I don't think anyone here has a Droid/Milestone but after going through numerous web reviews and Youtube videos I think its a great phone and you can't compare it with Spica. If you have money go for it and don't bother about its processor! :)

Its called LG GW620! Pretty fscked up phone I must say. Has a resistive screen, looks ugly and fat. It doesn't come cheap (Rs.16,490) either. Epic fail!

Already picked it up for 28.5k :D. The best phone I've ever used and OMG that gorgeous hi-res screen is unbelievable. If you have the cash then you have to been seriously crazy to pick anything else up.

PS - There is very slight lag sometimes when browsing the market and downloading/installing apps simultaneously. Other wise the proccy can handle everything.

@milestone owners: how is the UI smoothness - stuff like scrolling and other animations? as smooth as an iphone/ipodtouch?

The UI on the Spica is as smooth as the iPhone, and more fluid than the iphone 2g/3g and kinda at par with the 3GS

so I would assume the same would hold true for the milestone too

sweet, now im tempted myself... (well, actually want to buy it for my sister but use it beforehand to "test" read "play" with it beforehand!)

any ideas where to get this in Pune and will any shop allow you to demo it before buying?

Wikipedia says Milestone only loads signed ROM images (bootloader) from Motorola disallowing custom ROMs that the DROID (US) allows... any pointers to "unlocked" (rooted) Milestone devices that can load non-Android stuff?
