Already picked it up for 28.5k :D. The best phone I've ever used and OMG that gorgeous hi-res screen is unbelievable. If you have the cash then you have to been seriously crazy to pick anything else up.

PS - There is very slight lag sometimes when browsing the market and downloading/installing apps simultaneously. Other wise the proccy can handle everything.

Congrats :hap2:.

When can we have review??? Please write one as i am seriously thinking of going for milestone...

Got the milestone last Friday!

Absolutely Fab phone!

The best part is that the Voice quality is the best I have seen as yet :) (both the caller's voice and your voice at the other end) and isnt that what a phone's primary purpose is?

Much has been said & written about ANdroid so I won't say much except that from my POV, it gives me the best of the iPhone's usability (My outgoing phone) and WinMo's flexibility :)

As for the milestone, the only flaw for me so far is that the keyboard isn't as good as I hoped for it to be (but then I use a BB as my official phone and am thus spoilt rotten by the KB on that :) )

oh, and the battery life could have been better!

As for the performance, the new Arm Cortex proccy and the Power VR GFX make everything fly, and have not faced any slowdowns whatsoever as yet..

And although most websites are crying hoarse about the camera's poor quality, but I found the camera's PQ to be quite nice .... (perhaps something to do with the fact that the official India models come with 2.1 preloaded)

Interestingly, the label on the box says assembled in India :)

Wow! Thats a crisp review. Congrats!

Saving dime to buy one.

sweet, did you get it from mumbai? im still waiting to get a demo of this in croma/wherever...

Yup...

Go ahead n get it anyway

I played arnd (and even made test calls) with both the N1 and this in the store I bought it from.. The price was more or less the same for both (although the milestone did come with a India b&w)

I couldn't discern any performance differences b/w the two , and the keyboard, build quality and of course, the clarity of voice calls made me choose this one over the N1

Spica is on a 800 Mhz ARM11 which is a ARMv6 processor...

Whereas the DROID is on a 550Mhz ARMv7 ...which is kinda of better and can easily be over clocked to 1GHz. ;)

The UI on the Spica is as smooth as the iPhone, and more fluid than the iphone 2g/3g and kinda at par with the 3GS

so I would assume the same would hold true for the milestone too

I beg to differ. I own both Spica and 2G iPod touch, iPod touch is legions ahead of Spica when it comes to fluid interface.

On Spica I tried, ahome, helix launcher and a few homescreens, but still it lags, bundled Pantheon homescreen in 2.1 is even more laggy which I never had in iPod touch till date.

No doubt Spica is better than many phones out there when it comes to interface, but still not in the league of iPhone :)

If I'm not wrong Spica uses S3C6410 ARM 11 series Processor, what is this ARMv6??

SAMSUNG's Digital World

Hey Guys, I'm also thinking of getting the fab droid, but just worried about the service element. How would you guys rate it as opposed HTC/Samsung? I'm from Chandigarh and it's not exactly a small city, but still want my expensive new phone to be backed with good service God forbid if something crappy happens :)
Thanks!
