Sennheiser 485 or Grado SR60??

Ppl,im ordering a pair of headphones.Pls suggest which one to go for b/w the Sennheiser 485 or Grado SR60.Which has better bass??
I need them for ma ipod and gaming.
Thanks

I've never used Grado, but Sennheiser headphones are pretty damn awesome. you can go with Sennheiser anyday, they never dissapoint. Grado SR60 has really positive reviews, so I would say both of them are equally good. Here's a little excerpt from a review [of Grado]:

You’ll be hard pressed to find a better pair of headphones for the money than the Grado SR60. The upper mids/highs reveal excellent detail, and the bass is solid too.

Thanks dude.Even i was inclined more towards the Sennheiser's coz i read that the Grado's seem to leak sound outside and get a lil uncomfortable.

Sennheiser HD485:

+VE:

Excellent Comfort (Open Air & Circumaural)

No Distortion even at full volume

Good Bass

Thick, Long (10 Feet), Single Sided & Detachable Cord

Headphone Stand :p

Light Weight

Good High & Low Frequency details

Laid Back and Refined Sounding (Good for every type of Music)

Great Soundstage (Great for Movies & Games)

Can be used 12hrs at a Stretch (atleast by me)

-VE:

Mid Frequency details a bit poor

Grado SR60:

+VE:

No Distortion even at full volume

Good Bass

Thick Cord

Good High, Mid & Low Frequency details

Aggressive Sounding (Great for Rock Music & ok for other types)

-VE:

Uncomfortable (Open Air but Supraural)

Short (6.5 feet), Un-detachable & dual sided cord

Totally No Soundstage (So-So for Movies & Games)

Cannot be used more than 1hr (atleast by me)

yes a friend personally tested both the Sennheiser HD485 & Grado SR60 on my PC & told me the differences

i could not test it as the wire was too small thus did not reach me but i had put them on to check the comfort

i would suggest buy the Sennheiser HD485 if you watch lots of movies & play lots of games with headphones on

Kind of struggling with a similar issue. Am debating between a HD555 and Grado SR80. The choice is between getting a headphone best suited for the music I listen to (Grado for rock and metal) vs. getting a good allrounder (since I watch a lot of movies - sennheiser). Haven't decided yet, and I might just end up buying both!

Hey Udit, thanks a million man for the detailed analysis and thanks to all the others too for ur valuable inputs.

Ive decided to go with the Senn HD 485 coz i wanna use it for games and the occassional movie too.
