^^ Price seems OK. Gigabyte 785G @ 5.5k and 785GMT @ 6.5k.

But i guess Biostar TA785GE @ 4.4k is pretty good, yes it have a HDMI port.

Errrr.... Which age are u living in :p These mobos are EOL and prices too are way high.

MSI 785G DDR3 costs ~ 3.6k
Gigabyte or MSI 880G costs ~4.1k. (Gigabyte 785GMT available in few places for the same ~4k price)
MSI 880G with USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps costs 5.2k

Prices are decent if they are VAT inclusive. As you have correctly guessed u will get it Rs.500 cheaper in NP :)
As the shop keeper says if possible get the 785G board as its better for HD videos playback. Since this is a long time upgrade up your budget a little and go for 785G.

I would suggest Windows 7 Ultimate for the config.

BTW, your final config seems spot on. But I would prefer the Gigabyte Mobo over the Asus one...

Bro, If something is running fine with XP, then safely you can assume that it will run fine in Windows 7. :bleh:

Why we are preferring 7 over XP is simple. The fact is everyone tends to move to a newer platform and if it is very much compatible with older versions of the software, then no harm in trying the new one, here Windows 7.

To be on track, install Windows 7. But, if you feel Windows 7 is not good enough(which is not true :p), then stick with XP, but do remember anytime soon, you have to install Windows 7:cool2:.

i installed Window 7 only to test but never got bak to my fav. XP ..... skipped vista completely
