Do any of you guys rate a movie on IMDB just after you have watched it? If yes, make the link public and share it. All you have to do is go to "My Movies > Vote History" and tick the box called "public". A link will be generated on the top of the page which you can share with everyone.

Here's my Vote History:
My Movies

For those that don't rate movies on IMDB, start doing it, esp., if you have really bad memory and watch way too many movies. This way you can easily remember if you have watched a movie or not, how much you liked it at the time, share your recommendations with friends and contribute to the IMDB's Wisdom of Crowds.

Kill bill vol.1 in the same league as pulp fiction ??

..i dont think so :P

same goes for fight club & seinfeld !!!!

Also bend it like beckham deserves at least a 7. For a desi movie it was hilarious.

Leon deserves a 7 or better.

^^^

Voting's never absolute. Its always a product of your mood and situation during the movie and how generous you are at the time of voting. I probably like some of the movies I gave 6 better than some I gave 7.

I've given Fight Club, Seinfeld, Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill all 10/10. But that doesn't mean I like them equally. It just means these are all such great entertainment experiences that I felt they deserved an almost perfect rating at the time. Ofcourse Seinfeld and Pulp Fiction are at another level. But there isn't a decimal system (which would be an overkill anyway). Ebert gives 4/4 stars to so many movies but he doesn't mean they're all Citizen Kane or The Godfather.

As for Leon, I was just completely creeped out with Natalie Portman looking like a small child and yet portrayed that way. I know you aren't supposed to see it that way, but once in a while you just don't get a movie. Infact I was so creeped out during the movie that I gave it a 3 initially but after some people pointed it out I just made it 6 so I wouldn't be bugged anymore. :) I am sure I just didn't get the movie's "it" factor, but I just kept feeling icky watching a 12 year old looking girl having a sexual chemistry with a 40 year old looking guy.

OMG .. how do you get sooo much time to see soo many movies ?

Nah, its not that many. Been voting for 2-3 years for almost every movie I watch and some votes are from memory. I'm sure there are ppl here who must've watched even more.

Anyone posting their own list??

Yeah but i think the 10s are for that special dialog, that you dont get al the time. A good entertainment experience i'd give a 8 or 9 max. What puts Pulp Fiction in a league of its own is the Diner scene with Sam LJ's speech, its rare that you get completley drawn in with a dialog like that, never heard of that guy before, at the time. There was nothing in Kill Bill that even came close to it.

10s are those timeless movies that won't age, i'm not sure that applies equally to just an entertainment movie.

Special fx etc are just expensive gimmicks, but a crafty use of the language folowed by an even better delivery is priceless.

Why else would ppl still be reenacting Shakespeare's plays several hundred years after the fact.

^^^ Dude, I totally agree. For me too, dialogue is the most important part of a movie and what you said above is totally true. If I had to compile a list which was an official quality list, my votes might be quite different.

I get what you are trying to say about giving the perfect score of 10 to only those timeless absolute classics, but since this list is mostly for my own reference I also like to record the ones that really affected me at the time at 10. At the end of the day, there are thousands of great movies which you could give only an 8, 9 or 10. Seeing as I already have 100s in 8 and 9, I have to give 10 to some personally special ones for distinguishing them, whether they had that perfect quality or not.

I vote very erraticly. (Not my voting scale, but whether I vote or not. Usually am too lazy.)

Vote History

Like I sait, I don't vote for too many. And I do not vote for movies that I think are <=6. Also very few 7s.

@cybertragic - Someone else who likes My Man Godfrey. :hap2: I think William Powell is brilliant. Watch the Thin Man movies if you haven't seen them. 6 movies in all. 1-4 are brillaint, and 5,6 are decent.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 is a 10.
It was an excellent violent homage to the styles of different masters.

Seinfeld is also a 10.
One word - Frogger

lol how come you guys think 450 odd movies is too much? :P

I end up watching 6-7 movies in a month. Many times more. ( hell i have watched more than 10 movies this month alone :ashamed: ). For a person who dont watch too much TV, 450 movies is nothing.

My personal DVD collection goes to over 300 movies. God knows how many are there on my HDDs.

I am lazy voter on IMDB. Have some free time, will vote and put up my list.

300 Original DVDs??!!
Original + rental backups. Over last 2 years a good rental store has opened near me so I just rent the movie and back it up on DVD.
But i still have over 150 original discs and plenty of age old VCDs.

The best way to vote for a movie i think is after maybe 5-6 days..

let the story and the presentation sink in and then vote..

Else u gonna be an impulsive voter and end up giving more points to a dumb movie ..

Thanks for the suggestions. Will keep them in mind when I again get the B&W movie bug. You have some really good movies in your list. Nice mix of old and new.

omg u gave 1 to MPKDH !! :O there was nothing lower than that i guess..

I generally don't vote for crappy bollywood movies which I am forced to watch with family because I am probably not the target audience for them and they might've been good for their target audience. But Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon took the movie-medium as a whole to a completely new low. It wasn't even the kind of bad movie that you could laugh at because it was so goddamned wannabe and trying too hard types that you actually feel sad for for the cast/crew. Or maybe you just felt like shooting the hyper-melodramatic Kareena and hyper-bubbly Hrithik through the screen. A singular experience. I recommend it for everyone who hasn't watched it.

I think (or atleast hope) he meant Fight Club wasn't as good as Seinfeld, not the other way round. Seinfeld ofcourse conquers everything else in the universe. I just feel  when I think of any of its episodes. Frogger  Btw, those who feel like me about it and never found anything on TV close to its unique sense of humour, should watch "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Its by one of Seinfeld's creators Larry David and is almost as good.

this is my list of movies with me burnt on dvds , org , downloads , hd all are mixed. around 50 - 60 % have been seen ... rest well i keep seein them . i dont vote much on Imdb ...
