I think (or atleast hope) he meant Fight Club wasn't as good as Seinfeld, not the other way round. Seinfeld ofcourse conquers everything else in the universe. I just feel  when I think of any of its episodes. Frogger  Btw, those who feel like me about it and never found anything on TV close to its unique sense of humour, should watch "Curb Your Enthusiasm". Its by one of Seinfeld's creators Larry David and is almost as good.
I highly recommend It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Heh, just look at the tagline :)

I vote very erraticly. (Not my voting scale, but whether I vote or not. Usually am too lazy.)

Vote History

Like I sait, I don't vote for too many. And I do not vote for movies that I think are <=6. Also very few 7s.

@cybertragic - Someone else who likes My Man Godfrey. :hap2: I think William Powell is brilliant. Watch the Thin Man movies if you haven't seen them. 6 movies in all. 1-4 are brillaint, and 5,6 are decent.

Damn. I do not like this thread!
It made me go and vote on more movies.
Good thing I do not have my boss looking over my shoulder.
:ashamed:
Edit: There is no way I can find a list of movies I have watched, and I cannot go through the list of all movies made. So am looking through IMDB's top movies lists and other people's lists. :P I just noticed, cybertragic's list looks like a *ahem* server file name list from one of the FTP serers from my alma mater.
As would mine I guess.:P

Something I realized looking at all the lists here and lists of a few of my other friends is that, although there a lot of individual quirks here and there, all of us Indian *ahem* downloading technically inclined people have a very similar taste in movies. We all give Hindi movies either very low or very high scores (generally 1, 2 and 9,10) because we absolutely hate on the bollywood cliched ones but once in a while when there's a movie that can make us think or connect we are so grateful that we immediately give it a 10. Also we depend on IMDB Top 250, AFI Top 100 etc. for our *ahem* downloads so we have lots of similar movies in our lists.

@Params7

Love the fact that you also vote on so many movies. Nice list and I agree with most of the lower-ranks but you give 9 and 10 quite generously man. Da Vinci, Spiderman, Saw sequels and all those Arnie mindless action flicks to name just a few are rated 10 while Pulp Fiction, LOTR2, The Matrix (original) etc., all extra-cool fantabulous ones are rated 8. Not being critical, just pointing out the quality discrepancies according to me. Ofcourse these are individual tastes so its nice to find ratings different from general consensus.

@cybertragic: Mathilda is like a daughter to the 40 year old Leon (even in the context of the film) but the case is quite different if you watch the crapped out hindi version of this "Bichhu" (with Rani Mukherjee as the overacting heroine , yuck!! :@). Remember watching Leon on cable back in 1999/2000 and it left a deep impact on my impressionable(back then) mind maybe due to the similarity in behaviour and thinking (except that am not a contract killer ).

Clearly Luc Besson cant better himself after having made this masterpiece.

Heh heh. I agree. Actually, a lot of my initial, non-blockbuster movie watching was based on recommendations from my father and his friends. They have a pretty large DVD [or should I say VHS] collection among them. I started using IMDB in 2002 or so. Saw the list of 250 movies, and realised had alread seen a decent amount of them. Then started looking for the rest. I think I have seen almost all from that list that interest me. Now-a-days, I usually look for movies by directors/writers that I like. Dunno what I shall do for recommendations after that. :D

As to rating, I personally give a 10 to movies which are my absolute favourite, and check how other movies come close to those. Dunno what'll happen to my scale when I find a movie that I like more than High Noon or The Maltese Falcon. :P

With Hindi movies, I am not sure. Like you said, it is as if we measure them on a different scale than non-hindi movies. Though there is just one Hindi movie that will be a 10 on my list. Anand.

Think I overrated few, but not Arnies, I grew up watching his films all the time and one of his biggest existing fans. Hollywood in '80's was all about Schwarzenegger vs Stallone. And Saw appeals to my gore needs with a twisted storyline, better than Hostel movies.
