Hi friends,
Can you recommend how I can share my desktop (PC) control over net? Something like MS NetMeeting?

We have having dynamic IP so I cannot use MS NetMeeting, or can I use it by some way?

I need to take control of my parent's PC over the net to install/fix staffs. For them even checking yahoo mail is a daunting task :( .

Any help !!

Cheers,
Bidhan

Have your parents do this
In XP goto

> Start
> Help and Support Center
> Ask for Assistance
> "Invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance"

Click on
>Invite someone to help you
(at the bottom)
>Save invitation as a file (Advanced)
Fill the rest out as needed

Have them save the file somewhere they will remember and then have then pop it off in an email to you.

When you receive it (make sure they are at the computer at the same time)
double click on it and it, and it should connect for you, they will need to give you permission on the other end once you try to connect.

I also have dynamic ip, but this worked for me to help fix my mothers computer.

:)

BTW... my mother (who btw is awesome) is also sorely deficient when it comes to using a pc. It took me 10 mins to show her how to attach the file and email it, I had to talk her through the whole process as explained above... step by step, but it does work really well ;)

Sorry bro, got disconnected for a few days in between. My own PC got corrupted with a power off during startup :( ...

Anyway the issue is they have Win 2K, not XP. Anyway I will try the suggestions in the other two posts. Thanks a lot anyway...

By the way, my parent finally asked if there was any book that they could use to use yahoo :eek:hyeah: . Created a gmail id for them... and it seems to be working...

cheers
