PC Peripherals Shopping list for singapore, a lil help

anyone been or has exp in singapore? just need help with some info

right now i know i need a headphone

prolly in the Rs 2000 to 3000 range

no amps, im poor.

so what should i get?

Senn HD 497(SGD $103) vs HD 457(SGD $70) vs HD 485(SGD $145)

1 SDG ~ Rs26

1 USD ~ Rs41 (i think )

also ... what else :huh:

shud b around $299 USD ....

You are buying a headphone for Rs. 3,000 and you call yourself poor? :no:

From when on poors in India started travelling to Singapore and do shopping ? :huh:

On a serious note, you can buy lot of things from singapore, you only can decide what you want and what you dont (everyone has got different needs and wish). You make list and ask here, guys will advice you what to buy and what not to, from singapore.

im settling for a headphone.

1) So HD 485 it is (darn looks like its might cost me 4k...humm lets see)

what could be a cheaper alternative to it? , just in case

i would not like to compromise in overall quality(audio+build) over high def audio alone. i love music but im not a audiophile yet, on my way to becoming one im sure.

2) also want to get either a digicam or a camcorder or both

for a camera ~Rs 15k

for a camcorder ... 25k - 30k

please suggest 2-3 models for each.

for camera, megapixels is not a priority, dont want 10mp cams with ordinary pic quality.

3) i have SE w700i, i think comes with a HPM 70 earbuds, its great. could i use it for my PC?

the cord is detachable but short, so to extend the range without and sound distortion(etc) i know i need a good cable - gold/alloy jacks, good quality wire. is there anything standard that i can buy. what should i do?

Canon Powershot series:

570IS, 710IS (4x optical Vs 6x)

or the S3IS if u prefer some more advanced settings.
 
if you want ultra compact cam - sony dsc t100(8mp, 5x opt zoom, 3":) ) might be of interest to you....u can even look for panasonic lumix dmc tz3(7.2mp, 10x opt zoom,3" lcd:) but no USB 2.0 support :()...thats probably the best ultrazoom compact cam out there at the moment.

hpm 70 as an earphone on pc doesn't sound great coz its not optimised for use with a pc....and of course the cable length is too short.....u can try creative ep-630 though and its quite good with almost any player portable or otherwise.

Guy any advice for handycams. budget 20-25k.

also anymore headphones cheaper but close to HD 485

digicams ?
 
agree with what puns said..

Jaben are the best ppl in singapore when it comes to cans.. especially uncle Wilson... very helpful person.

to someone used to the stores in India, Jaben will be a pleasant change.. they have racks nd racks of earphones/headphones/amps nd what not..

the best part being that u are allowed to test anything and everything before making your purchase :)
