Hey guys, I'm considering the Coolermaster Hyper TX3. This has pretty decent reviews and seems like a nice budget cooler.

I have an E2180 + Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L on stock cooler oc'ed to 2.7Ghz. My current temps on stock cooler are 39 on idle and 60 on load.

I'm actually content with my current speeds/temps, but thought of oc'ing my processor a bit more. Around what speeds/temps can I expect with the TX3? Is it worth investing considering my motherboard?

Also, how would the OCZ Vanquisher be?

with TX3 you can expect around 5 C temperature drop in current readings.

if you are looking for bang for the buck then i'm only having two options for you

1)OCZ Vendetta 2.

2)Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 120mm.

the choice is all yours.

Also, have a look at members market section as you can find OCZ Vendetta 2 as well as Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 120.

i dont know about "Coolermaster Hyper TX3" but i suggest u to get a cm v8 iam using it 1 and temp are like 28-30 idel... and 39 -40 max load . and running c2d 8400 @ 4ghz oc .

^ Those are above my budget. :( I'm looking for sub 1.5k. Otherwise SCCF would have been a great choice.

How much does a new Ultima 90 cost? Hope I can find a used one for 1.5k in the market.

Give in your suggestions.

The Ultima90 is a good option for 1.5k. But just a heads up, you will need a fan separately for the Ultima 90. So another 300 bucks minimum you will need to spend. Instead, look at the SCCF 92mm one for around 2 k or so. It will give you a better value overall.

^ Yes I am aware of that, that's why looking for a used one. Does a new one cost 1.5K? I thought it was around 1.8-2k.

No to TX3 imho. :hap5:

Try getting a used TX2 or AC freezer 7 pro or maybe even an Ultra90.

People have sold the same for 800/- and 1250/- odd resp. :)

used ultima90i will be 1450-1600, depending on age and condition.

very vfm even if you have to buy a fan, considering OCing headroom and immense upgradeability. :)

Even any cheapo but 3-pin/4-pin 92/120mm fans will give fantastic results. :)

or older Ultra 120 (4-pipe non-extreme) for 1400/- odd, is at the level of ultima90i, provided your case has the space and you are comfortable with the size and weight. :)

And then used TRUE for 1.9K-2.2K odd. :P

As far as i am concerned, there is nothing such as "overkill" when it comes to good psus and good coolers. :)

It all depends on one's budget and how much one is willing to "invest". :thumb:

Thanks a lot for your suggestion! :)

I am leaning towards a used Ultima90. It would be total VFM.

Ultra 120 and TRUE might be a problem in my Bijli case. Hope Ultima90 would fit in without any problems.
