Should I go for masters in Europe?

Hi

I'm thinking about getting a master's in Europe. I'm looking at a couple of programs in Germany France the Netherlands and Sweden. One year program.

I already have a master's from the Netherlands in data science and I have 8 years of experience in total.

Does it make sense to get a master's now? I'm a data engineer by profession and plan to work in Europe for a couple of years. But I eventually plan to come back to India.

The job market isn't good right now, especially in Europe. Not sure what it's gonna be like in two years.

I'm thinking of getting a degree in computer science with data science focused electives. If you have a program in mind, please let me know.

Thanks

Hey, good to see that there are other DEs in this forum.

Is your only reason for pursuing a masters is to work abroad? If yes, then have you tried applying to jobs which offer visa sponsorship? You might stand a chance since you have 8 years of experience.

Since you already have masters degree in the same field, it doesn't make sense to get another one.

Also, any reason to switch from DE to DS (apart from interest)?

Hello fellow DE

Yes I've been trying to get a job in Europe for the past year but I wasn't successful, which was partly due to the fact that market was bad.

I think I misrepresented what I meant. By data science I meant BI, DA, DE, and everything that comes with it. I eventually plan to land a job based on my experience itself, and not my degree. That's why I proposed computer science with DS electives.

What I really want to study is distributed systems, but only a handful of universities offer that course which is for two years. I think just VU amsterdam offers a one year course.

What else do you think I can do? I'm not inclined to do an MBA. But I might look into it.

Thanks
