I am currently using 5870 in crossfire mode

and my friends are pushing me to go to GTX 480 single card or SLi

so should i sell both of ma 5870 and switch to GTX 480 single or SLi or not

please help me here i am confused
My system config is in ma sig

Er..why would you want to do that? If you have money lying around, give it to me instead :P

Isnt your configuration sufficient for like ANYTHING ? :S

are u facing crossfire issues? :P many games are buggy with crossfire .. imo gtx 460 should get similar performance and less issues ..

for upto full hd single GTX 480 should be good enough and overkill in most games .. but gtx 460 sli will cost cheaper and better performance + lower heat .

but single 480 is also good if u dont want multi gpu . u can get zotac amp edition which runs cooler than default coolers .

also u can just sell one card and run single 5870 if u are having crossfire issues ..

Wait for GTX 485 ... then decide whether to go for GTX 480 SLI or not

Currently GTX 460 SLI should be enough :)

Wow, I dont know what your intentions are, but I admire you for spendingso much on your gaming needs. I would do the same if I had that much money. I mean you have every console out there and one of the best gaming PCs and you still want to upgrade.. Wow, kudos to you sir.... And, people, he is not having issues with his system. He just want to upgrade/ spend money on his computer...

If I am allowed to offer my opinion to your query, I would say that 5870 xfire is enough for 2500x res (which you are playing at most probably). But, if you DO want to upgrade, get 480 is sli, coz only that would be able to handle 2500x res.....

Well since you seem to be the type who needs to have the ultimate why not wait it out till december and see what comes on the market. If there is a nvidia dual gpu you would want 2 of those :D

Untill and unless you're facing any issues with CrossFire I can't make any sense of this.

My bet would be on GTX 470 SLI.
These do OC pretty decently (800MHz on core from default 605MHz) and still max temps are like 89-90C after 4-5 hrs of gaming in a non-ac room.
If you go for GTX 480 SLI you will need to change your PSU too.

I doubt he is having any CF issues, Its more like he wants to have bragging rights which 5870 x 2 is not able to provide.........

Please let us know what is the exact issue with RED... although the only diff you will find from switch to green is Phyx, CUDA i am not getting anything more...
