Market Feedback Should there be a limitation on bumps?

That's only if we are looking for specific items.
If you want something specific, like say Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini, easy to find here.
What if I want 'a case that supports ATX motherboards and many fans', I will not be sure if someone is selling case in a separate thread or a part of full PC and ok with parting out, I WILL have to look through the threads. I definitely can't use the search functionality because I don't know if sellers have listed all data like the search terms I am putting in.
Go to classifieds page, in search box, select "this forum" in drop down and give ur key word to search. This might help as it will search all the threads in classified forum only (not complete TE site), if seller writes ATX, his thread will show up in ur search results

That's the thing. Not all sellers write ATX or Cabinet or Case or whatever. They might just write Lian Li O11 Mini.
That's exactly the point I am trying to make. Also, this only applies if you are looking for something.
The prefix doesn't always help either. A cabinet might be listed in separate thread with 'Cabinets' prefix, or with full system in 'Desktops' prefix, or in 'Others' prefix because all the things listed in the single thread were too random.

For around 80-90% of my purchases here, I was not actively looking for the item I bought. The CISCO switch I bought- I bought it for the house I was not going to use in for 3 months. Randomly saw a good deal, bought it.
Same with the Dell Wyse Thinclient. Was not looking for it. Countless examples.
Many of my buyers also purchased stuff from me because it was a good deal, not because they were looking for that particular thing.
Also,
About 23% of the first page of classifieds is actually sticky posts with multiple rules. This is 50% of screen on desktop, more than 100% on my phone. I have to scroll twice to see the first sale thread. So putting it into single sticky post will do more good than daily bumps for first page visibility of sale posts.

Try it once. You will be surprised.

Just make it 1 bump for every 2 active threads in every 2 days.
I think that should be fine .
@mods atleast make it 1 bump in 4 days for each thread . It will allow us to keep some track of our stuffs not sold and push forward to meet prospective buyers.
One cannot just keep decreasing price or add some other relevant info to their thread to push it forward.

What's gonna happen is the person with their thread currently at the top is gonna wait until everyone below bumps their thread, and then they're gonna bump their own thread. So in the end nothing changes, and it's just a rat race.

@mods is it possible to show a threads randomly when someone clicks on BST link?

Can't believe this was up for over 2 years! I was not here for a long time and this was the thread I had last seen. So many bumps! Is this a record for the longest running, successful and the most bumped sell thread?
Congrats on the sale OP.
I have had sale thread older than this and it got sold.

Sometimes you just forget that you even had put it on sale.
Buyer asked me if I still have it and since I still had with it and wasn't using it. I sold it.

Just count the number of posts in this thread that are NOT bumps by OP. And asking price went from 13k to 7.5k (or lower). If OP valued his time, set a tempting price initially and if bumps were not free, this sale should have happened 2 years ago.

if a person has 4 sale threads and he bumps one today and after 48 hrs second one. By the time the first one's turn comes back it will be almost almost 10 days.
Maybe 2 sale thread after every 48 hrs should be allowed.

Some people had 7-8 threads and would daily bump them up all at the same time, filling up the front page. It was so annoying and that is what prompted the title post.

I hope they don't do it at 48hr interval now.

Front page? U mean to say the new post?

Member those who have problem with Market section can ignore the whole market section that will block all the threads from market place on new post.

Yes, I mean the What's New page. And yes, I had to resort to that. But I, and I think many others like me, do not want to ignore the whole market place, sometimes you find a new good deal worth your attention. I had to manually select posts and ignore them one by one. Still, it showed me the same posts sometimes.
