Sleep (in vista/7) is a hybrid between standby and hibernate. It kind of replaces hibernateSleep and hibernate are two different options, and thus not the same as indicated in the poll
maybe, but isn't the startup is a lot faster in hibernate , since there no startup applications/services.shutdown incase of memory above 2GB just because
generally it takes more time to copy that much memory to drive than shutting down.

I believe that the 2 watts which is used while hibernating can also be saved looking at the larger picture..Imagine each of us saving 2 watts per day for one year..the amount is just huge..
Nowadays windows boot a lot faster. win7 boots very fast..max 30 seconds..so there shouldnt much delay probs during boot too..
So, please shutdown ur pc at night unless there is any work in progress..
And for those of you who are too lazy to shutdown ur systems thereby leaving them locked or running unncessarily at night :no::no:
I am not trying to preach anything here..just my 2 cents..
