Also now since i have a touch screen phone, whenever i get hold of a non touch screen phone, by habit i start pressing their screens too.
Only to realize that it is not a touch screen. :P

Ugh, i feel sorry for your associates once you get an iPad.

Once had a boss who liked to do that, the LCD screen was so FILTHY even my 3 yr old niece could not have done worse :@

I've always clipped it to my pant belt loop, instead of wearing it around my neck like some bonded animal.
I second that.I've never worn the id card around my neck in the last 5 years of professional life and never will.I prefer to keep it in my jeans/trousers pocket or worst case scenario hook it up to my waist.

Nor will I ever wear a IT company shirt.Thats just not me... yet!

One from my side: After a 14 hour session of JavaScript coding, I went to sleep at around 3 AM. I was so exhausted and irritated that I couldn't sleep properly and got up by 6. I was still fuzzy and sleepy when my mom asked why I got up so early. My reply - "There is some syntax error with the function. I will fix it later!"

She didn't understand what I said for 5-10 sec. By then I recovered and managed to utter something she understood :-P

we had access cards(icards) to enter various departments - often i came home late from work and used to stand outside the door trying to SWIPE my card beside the door knob and wait for it to open.

Regarding ID badges. It depends on how strict the company is. My previous organization we could not enter the premises if there was no ID. If we forgot, we told the security, and immediately our primary badge was disabled. We used a TEMP valid for next 18 hours only. Next day if we came with our original card, it had to be re-activated. All floors had specific entries, and anti-pass back system. If you did not punch out while exiting a door (even if open), it would not allow you to come back inside. The person has to go to the main gate to reset it....!

Also the admin team made it a point, to make us keep it on display. Either hooked to the belt loop or around the neck. It is quite a pain, since all exits/doors/floors are card enabled. Forgetting it and going for a cigarette was quite an experience. :)

What Mr.Pinga has done here is copied an entire Blog from Internal Infosys Blog and posted it here. I assure you that all these incidents are real and the People are actual employess in Infosys. Though I really dont knw why he has posted it here word by word.
i shudder at the thought of the coming future generation. Wonder what the quality of work is then. Must be absent mindlessly putting codes from one project into another and getting a lot of errors.

You hit the nail on the head. I do wear it sometimes when I want to get some work done in a hurry. I tell them that I've to go back to office :P
