Significance of ISP in online gaming

Currently I have the UL-256 Bsnl plan, having no problems with it while playing Bad Company 2 online. Now I am planning to get the Airtel 1mbps UL plan, would I have any problems with Airtel as far as online gaming is concerned?

PS- Also, whats up with the doubled speeds with Bsnl?

Airtel has awesomely high pingns to many SG servers these days, if u wanna shift from BSNL that too for playing BC2, airtel can't be recommended now... You're better off with BSNL as it is, they increased speeds 2 weeks back or so, now the so called 256 is 512 kbps now, so why shift? :p Game on

Thanks for the reply, man. One last thing:-

" so, now the so called 256 is 512 kbps now, so why shift?"

Is that going to be permanent? Also, is there going to be some fup if it is indeed permanent?

Airtels pings to Fragnetic/SH suddenly fixed today after almost a month and a half.

That too on the day BSN Gaming launched 8 shiny new Bad Company 2 Servers in India itself. :)

Whether the pings to Fragnetics/SH stay fixed is another matter though.
