Microsoft has released Skype v1.0 for Windows Phone . Skype which was in private beta since February for Windows Phone is now finally available as v1.0 in Windows Marketplace .
The update brings to the table ability to search for and add new contacts , call to landlines , some optimizations and other minor improvements .
The app works just like Android and iOS counterpart and allows video and voice calls over 4G , 3G and Wi-Fi , and calls to landlines and mobiles using Skype Credits .
The requirements are Windows Phone with Mango ( 7.5 ) update and 512MB of RAM. Skype for Windows Phone requires use of a Nokia Lumia 710, 800, or 900; an HTC Titan or Radar; or a Samsung Focus S or Focus Flash.
However, the app doesn't support receiving calls in the background , If Skype is not in foreground or another app is in foreground then you wont be able receive calls . Bluetooth headsets are also not yet supported for Skype calling on WP .
