I had read this book a while back , and heard a movie was made out of it ...has anyone seen it or any links to a dvd of it ? to buy of course

edit ...i just realised its only getting released on nov 12... anyway ..it was a nice book , do read it

Yah, I'm waiting for its release! Danny Boyle (whom I respect after movies like Trainspotting, The Beach etc.) has directed it so it's certainly going to be good stuff.

Saw the trailer last week, looked really promising and also worth waiting for! Really looking forward to it, story seemed touching. Will try to get my hand on the book.

one of the most boring movies i have seen :puke:
my viewpoints..

no offense

It was a pretty slow film, without comedy or action. It was about the bond of brothers and how relationships change between your childhood and adulthood.
Was told in a different way too, so its understandable that most of the people would not have liked it.

But it was a beautiful movie if you could have related to the brothers.

I disagree. It was downright hilarious. Wes Anderson's movies (watch The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou) always feature quirky humour and deadpan acting. Basically his characters intentionally act serious in totally funny scenarios. His style of directing is intentional and his movies' humour is very understated.

To quote from Wikipedia:

Wes Anderson is known for making independent-type stylistic films which mix poignancy and dry humor. Examples of his humor includes malapropism and understatement. In his Mastercard commercial, Anderson states his films, "point out the beauty in flaws and vice versa." Anderson’s films, visually, often make use of close-ups, quick pans, and slow motion shots. He often uses folk and early rock as the background-music in scenes. His often damaged characters are viewed in a compassionate light. The depiction of escapism and companionship through chemicals seems to be one of his trademarks also.

As far as i know the movie (slumdog millionaire) is a copy of the novel by the name of Q & A. Dont remember the name of the author however the author is an indian. Dont know y the film is not being associated with the novel even though the story is the same.

Hmmm, not my cup of tea. Didn't really enjoy those two.

Now we're talking! Yep, I loved Rushmore.

But I think Wes Anderson films are quite inaccessible to the common man. In the sense, he makes films for his fans, not necessarily for a whole audience. This trend has become increasingly true with the Life Aquatic and the Darjeeling Limited. But I'm a bigtime fan, so I'm not complaining :)
