Best bet wud be a 32" LCD that is either fullHD or has a good 1080p internal upscaler...CRT is a big NO NO...

Else the 24" E248 monitor for abt 18k or so...

24" LCD with 1080p support if one can get that.

32" CRT is only good as a TV.

Don't even think about using a SD TV as a display for PS3 because its like (or worse than) running a PC game at 320 x 240, 16 color on a High end Quad GPU gaming rig.

Basically what I mean is that the PS3 is wasted in this case. Size of the Screen does not come into the picture here at all, be it 32" or higher. No point buying a 2.8k PS3 game and playing it at a measly 1/16th of its resolution. Regardless of the size of the screen, it will look bad and I mean real bad. If you want PS3 gaming, then HDTV or Monitor is the way to go.

In my opinion, the ideal display for high end console gaming is either a 20~24" Monitor or a 32"+ LCD TV.

what is the best VFM monitor for playing PC games and consoles (PS3,Xbox360)?? Also suggest the GPU and SMPS required to support that monitor with its native resolutions with medium settings of details.

excuse me for bothering, but i would like to know the definitive way of connecting a ps3 to a non hdcp compliant monitor like vx2025wm....Will hdmi to dvi connector work?

Yes, for games and non-copy protected media.
No sound through HDMI-DVI though.

That would be either:

A 22" Dell/LG for around Rs.13k (E228WFP, the Ultrasharp model or 226)
OR
A 24" Dell E248WFP for around Rs.17.8k (from the Deals section)

If you go for either of these, you'd need a GPU to power at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 - both of which are graphics-intensive resolutions for todays's game, hence>>

For medium/high details>>
Minimum> ATi HD3850 512MB
Recommended> 3870 or the new 9600GT
This depends on your budget and where you're getting the card from. (India local, direct from US, from US through KMD :) )

For all candy turned on, with AA in all games: the 8800GT will barely suffice - because the phrase, all games takes into account monsters like Crysis and Assassin's Creed which have kiler requirements.

And a quality 500W+ PSU would be required for all these cards. Starting off with the Seventeam 450W @ ~Rs.2.5k, POV BD 500W ~2.75k, Corsair VX450 ~3.7k

So there.
Payne

PS: I'm able to run Bioshock at 1680x1050 4x AA, 16x AF peacefully. :) But Crysis just about gets along at 1680x1050 with shadows at medium and the rest tweaked to high/very-high in DX9 (console commands). Got my 3850 512MB for 185$ :)
