QWERTY does take time getting used to but once you do, it makes life very easy. You already know where each key is if you use comp. That makes the transition easier. I cant tell you about the cost of memory card as honestly I have not inquired.

As far as BT headset goes, I am using Motorola S9 for quiet a while. I got this with my sis's motorokr and she does not use it.
I also have Dell BH200 which unfortunately was chewed by my DOG :ashamed: . But it worked like a charm with Dopod.

N82 is probably better multimedia phone. But its too thick for my liking. E71 fits the top pocket perfectly and does not look like brick in the pocket :p

yeah will check the e71.. but for now n82 is the choice... how much does DELL BH200 retails for... any idea on the BTooth keypad??

1. a 4 gb micro sd was abt 1 k for the sandisk one.
2. a 8 gb micro sd was abt 2.3 k with a card reader.
 
i myself am confused between e71 and n82 everything is the same except UI change and cam quality !! i am confused because of the wickedddd e71 looks ooooooo lol :p !!!!!

O.T - hows the p750 pda if u compare it with e71 ?
 
E71 rocks! All N series sucks! Who cares about mobile cam anyways! :p

Get a E71 eyes closed, though some negative online note about reception issue in E71 NAM model have been reported but none in the E71-1 version so far iirc, and even if there are any small/big bugs simply next firmwire will fix em.

The thing is just perfect! Techhead are you getting extra screen protectors and a good carrying case? if so let me know!
 
I just got an HTC touch for 13.5 two days ago. the multimedia support is quite great. Turn off the HTC home option and the phone is just buzzing about. Its great.

the features that you get with an HTC touch for 13.5k is unbeatable. However, you should look at the e71 as well as people here seem to vouch for it. check both of them out. I can assure HTC touch will please you all as they meet all your requirements except for the storage i think, which is up to 2 gb ...

i thought the same(max mem is 2 gb ) when i had got my htc p3400. but then i got a 4 gb card and it worked fine for me. nowdays i am using a 8 gb card with it.

on multimedia support. videos are great to watch, but sound quality is kinda so so specially on the stock earphones.

seriously speaking. i too find the N series hopeless. i havent found 1 N series phone, that has good looks. N82 was the only 1 that was a little decent.

with that said i really dont get what is the whole fuss here about the mobile cam. here is a quote from neo's 1st page post

was thinking for n82 but surfing on a touch phone is much better experience. iphone would do most of the stuff but then it cannot connect to my lappy. htc touch seems like an alternative??

as you can see the camera is mentioned just at the last. which means he really doesnt care if its some really great high end cam or no. he just needs it for casual clicking even if that is the case.

with that said i would suggest e71. cause i am using the phone & i can vouch for it. i had used n82 & n95 & dint find either of those great in looks & buildquality.

p.s - e71 battery life is insane. i am into the 4th day now without charging & 3 bars still left. yes you read it right.

p.s #2 - e71 is the best looking nokia phone up to date including all the N series. Period. for people who think otherwise havent really seen or used the phone in person.

You may not; but there are many who do. :D

I agree that E71 has a better build quality & looks good than the N82, but its camera is BAD. Not only its bad it also has an annoying purple haze.
I would have definitely bought the E71 if it had a decent 3 MP cam..... but its just too bad.

P.S. I might still end up buying a E71 but at the moment its the N82 :hap2:
 
All those smart people finding "n series " hopeless .. pls go check out n82 ..better try to use it for few days if u can, i think u will definitely find an exception :p

build quality of n82 is fantastic .. personally checked it after i dropped mine several times on hard surfaces .. black n82 looks very cool .. simply fantastic device.. not just phone ..

if u dont like a paricular phone, that does not mean its hopeless ..:no:

for those who like to compare with a digicam, have look at samsung innov8

To be honest, other than N78/N82 form factor i find all other N series phone to have a cheap look and feel, dont ask me why, its my personal opinion.

Even i have checked the N78 upclose and the keypad is horrible. Yes N82 has better camera, and if someone really wants better cam in cell they should opt for N82, in rest other cases its E71 hands down. You just have to use it to know how good it really is. So maybe this all N series sucks was a bit generalisation but I dont like much of them.

top end digicam??

I was comparing todays so called amazing camera phones to a 2004 model cam ( its not DSLR or anything. its point and shoot ) and even in 2005 when i bought it, it was not top end :p. N82 camera is average camera at best and thats that.

You guys seriously need to think about what is considered as good camera and go from there and not praise the camera because its in phone.

I have nothing against N series, I had N73 ME and I loved it ( that was best looking N series until N78 ). But all new N series exception of N78 look like a stone brick :p N82 is not an exception.

And even if I had to choose, I will take N78 looks over N82.

About samsung i8510.... Gotta hand it to Samsung for making that phone. Symbian S60 phones with capabilities like that would be amazing gadget to own.

And advice the phone depending on what user wants and not because you own it.

How long N82 users here can use their Wifi before draining batteries dead? On E71 you can go whole working day without even coming close to draining your battery even with wifi.

@ neo : if you want a good device and have the budget of 20k, then forget about HTC touch. Its feature set is nowhere near to any of these phone. Even if you want windows mobile phone, consider P750 or other higher end HTC models

2) screen size both equal
3) Wifi-equal..
4) 5) 6) equal.
7)n82 thrice as better..

Lets not talk abt looks and build quality..They both depend on users perspective..
 
looks like i invited two rival camps here... before i can check out the phones on the weekend, let me reproduce my requirements(what i meant) again and my opinions about both the contender again...

My reqd. - BIZ CUM ENTERTAIN
1. decent music playback
2. good screensize for web surfing
3. wifi - i travel a lot
4. good thirdparty softwares for increasing productivity
5. ability to use phone advance gprs on my laptop
6. as always - light, good looking, voice clarity and long battery life
7. camera 3MP would do. memory 4gb would do.

1. 2. equal
3. e71 coz of battery life although i always have provision to charge daily
4. on par. coz 3rd party means office + other like messenger / opera / video audio and games (n82 wins for games)...dont know if all 3rd party apps for n82 will work for landscape size e71..??
5. guess both will do, although i have some query about cheapest net plan on mobile in mumbai circle but will raise in another forum section
6. light - e71 ; looks - both for me (n82 is better but finger print magnet) ; battery - e71
7. camera - n82 (big problem, when i say 3mp i do expect pics and video of quality to be on par with n73... nothing exceptional needed.... e71 review at gsmarena proved my point wrong big time. i like to take pics.. not like photographers but just decent less grainy pics... but cannot carry my S3 IS always... hence this phone should be a good replacement... and i seemed to like my n70 for capturing decent videos)

Other Issues:
1. e71 - never used a phone with small keys.. and my fingers are quite broad... will the keys fit well?? (will check out the phone and let u know)
2. n82 - battery is letdown, can i buy a better battery?? what price?? will it give me my max usage possible 2hrs net - 2-3hrs phone - 10/20 pics - 2 hours music/video in a day....
3. e71 - why is the home screen layout different?? Is it better than the nseries in terms of usability?? (not much idea of a e series)

there you are.. how now you can advice me better.... had to say... now deciding between the two has really become a tough choice for me...

what makes you think that i havent used the n82. i dont base my comparisons on looking at pics or reviews. i have used n82, n95 & e71 as i said in an earlier post.

have you yourself used the e71?? if you have then you are definitly entitled to the suggestions you are giving to neo cause you have liked n82 out of the 2 after using them & there is nothing wrong with that.

if i dont like a particular cellphone, i will call it hopeless cause its my opinion & i dint like it. simple as that. i am not forcing you to agree with me.

also build quality does not mean if u drop the phone & it works fine.

@ x86 - the carrying case is very nice n slim. looks very classy.

i too am gonna get the screen protector asap.

@neo - please dont listen to reviews etc as there are lots of ppl who will suggest you a product just cause they own it. just take into consideration the battery life & also camera if you seriously need a good 1 or for casual clicking. rest i think both the phones n features are gonna be pretty much similar. both will require getting used to. so when you see both, whichever you like just pick that up.

if you need some snaps from the e71 i can post them if you like.
 
+1 for E71. it simply rocks.

people saying n82 build quality rocks. IMO it completely sucks. it feels so plasticy. when i hold it in my hand, i feel as if im holding a 2k phone. :p though the other features are pretty good.

i have seen the E71 and played around with it a little and i really liked it. looks great too. :D

@stormblast - 4 days without charging?! :O are you serious? i know it has a huge 1500mah battery but i never thought it could last 4 days. is this on light or heavy usage?
