Software for increasing & decreasing the speed of audio

Hi

I do shorthand dictations through PC in mp3 files. I want a software which can increase / decrease the speed of my dictations / audio files.

hi, please tell what software do you use to play the audio ? what operating system do you use ? what sound card do you use ?
 
My idea is to load your audio in Microsoft Movie player then do the slow and fast tracking..
This is free and easy to use.
 
here Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder,its a pretty straightforward and easy to use software to do all kinds of editing to audio files(including your speed adjustments,use the option to change speed without affecting pitch,its there under effects or something tab in the software),known as audacity.get it,install it and do your work.also to be able to export mp3 files,audacity will need the LAME mp3 encoder which can be found on the downloads page for windows on the aforementioned site under the plug-ins and libraries tab,to install it just follow the instructions once you click on that link.peace out.
 
Get Express Scribe which is meant for your work, has function keys assigned to play, pause, increase/decrease audio speed. Can use USB footpedal as well. Works great. Get it here.
