Storage Solutions Some Data Lost - Portable HDD

I have a 120GB Maxtor 2.5" External HDD , today while writing some data on the drive it started making whirring sounds and the computer hung , i disconnected the drive , restarted and plugged it back . It again made the same sounds so i assumed its dead however when i restarted with the drive plugged in , windows Drive Scanner started checking the Drive found some bad sectors and repaired the drive but now when i plug in the drive it shows only half the folders which were present , the drive says that 71 Gb space is used but the combined size of all folders i can see is only ~30GB

Is there anyway to recover those files?

Use file recory software and then send hdd for RMA

Use Recovermyfiles software to recover ur lost data... its awsomw and fast and will suit ur need...

Thanks for replying , I used Stellar Data Recovery and was able to recover almost all the data . Backed up everything to DVD's now , i am not trusting this disk
