I have some questions regarding paypal;

1. Can I sign up for an account even though I am not 18. (I am about to be 17).
2. Can I sign up for an account with my email address.. etc and then put in my dad's credit card/bank account?
3. To sign up for paypal, I sign up at paypal.com (No India site right?)
4. If I use a credit card and not a bank account... then how do I withdraw my money?
5. Without a credit card... but with money in my paypal account... can I send money to another paypal account?

1. Yes you can sign up for an account even if you are not 18.

2. Yes you can use your email address and can use your dad's CC/bank account.

Once you register your dad's CC .. Paypal will generate a 3-4 digit pin after charging you a small 1-2$ registeration fee. You will receive the pin in your next month's CC statement or better (and quicker) personally contact your CC hotline to provide you the PIN. But it will still take 3-4 days minimum.

Once you enter your PIN, paypal will refund you that registration fees and you are good to go then :)

Paypal was not available in India until few months back. There are only few banks available which supports paypal currently. I have not integrated my bank account with paypal yet, So I maybe wrong.

4. If you have not registered your bank account with paypal then you cannot receive or send money to anyone (unless ofcourse you are using CC but that will only allow you to send or refund in some cases).
 
You can directly withdraw money to your Visa Credit Card. The transaction charge is 5$. Also you can directly withdraw to bank account like HDFC, ICICI, SBI etc and this service is free.

If you do not add a credit card your total sending limit will be set to $500. (If you have a bank account that lets you create Virtual Credit Cards like HDFC, Kotak etc you can use that to verify your account and the sending limit will be removed) You can send the money to another paypal account as long as the total is less than $500.
 
Is that 500$ total? Or just every transaction?

Also... If I don't register a bank account or a credit card then can I still send and receive payments?

but it is recommended to verify your account as soon as possible using a cc.. there's no risk whatever.

yes you can send and receive payments but there will be limitations.

Its the total sending limit and not per transaction.

You cannot verify an Indian Paypal account with a Bank Account so credit card is your only choice.
 
I guess I will do it with a credit card then.

So I can definitely do it with my details and my dad's credit card and the fact that I am not 18. I can still do it?

I guess I will do it tomorrow.
 
The last name of the paypal account holder should match the credit card holder's last name (First name you can edit when adding the card) as you are using your father's credit card it wouldn't be a problem.
 
It won't allow me to sign up.

I put in my correct date of birh - 17th Nov, 1991 but it always says this -

Some information is incorrect or missing. Please correct your entries and try again.

•Please re-enter your Date of Birth.

So what should I do?
 
As far as I know

On the Users Agreement, it states, "our Service is not available to minors (under 18)".
 
hey guyies even i have one question !! one of my friend told that Paypal some time takes too much of time to credit the amount into your Account .Is this True ?
 
So what shall I do? Lie for my year of birth and then change it when I reach 17 or 18 years? I am about to be 17 in a month.

You can register by changing your DOB but the problem is, if for some reason your account gets limited you will have to submit ID proof etc etc. So for now maybe you can register with your fathers name?

If you withdraw money to your bank account it usually takes only 2 days for me. Maybe 3 if its a weekend etc.

The payment will be credited to your paypal account. If you want you can withdraw to your Bank Account and Credit Card later. If you withdraw to your CC, then it will surely show as credit amount. :)
