Switch Herald Apr 14, 2006 #22 My advise to anybody who is installing for the first time will be as follows: Buy a retail 999 pack Get a up to date backup DVD first(From a Friend/Cybercafe/Beg/Borrow/Steal) Download Steam from www.steampowered.com Install and update Steam Make a user account Activate CD/DVD key for that account(You will need to have the Origianl CD/DVD and CD key handy for this step) After your CD key is activated exit steam Now is the time to run that Backup DVD After it is backed up it will authenticate over net for max 2 mins Wolla you got a lastest up to date CSS setup in no time at all if you do this way the comeplete setup takes about 10 mins max...
