Hi Guys

These a typical problem which i just dont understand , in any playlist based player like AIMP , jRiver , Foobar the songs just play for a sec and keep changing automatically to the next song if this starts in one software it also happens in other softwares.

whats is this problem have no idea whats going on.

lol I search google for your answer and techenclave is second result and the other result is in neowin forums where Quad master (you) have posted same question. :P

Only issue which I can feel is that you might have renamed that particular file. Due to which the playlist when reaches this song it gets a conflict and skips to another song in ur list.

Also it may be because of codec (if that song is some other format like .wmv or aac)

You are probably using a PC/Laptop with an onboard SigmaTel audio chip.

To fix this problem do the following:

Control panel > Sound > Speakers/Headphones > Enhancements:

Select "Disable all Enhancements"

That should work :)

Yes

You are on windows? Seems to be a sound driver issue. Try reinstalling the sound drivers. They may be corrupted.

Windows XP > Yes

Sound Driver Issue > dont think so its a fresh formated and installed system.

YOur file is corrupted...

Try playing same file on other comp and you will get same result...

Some time the files play perfectly , then suddenly during playback it starts skipping randomly at anysong.

Not rename issue , the entire playlist starts skipping.

Even if i close the player and restart it.

Also this phenomenon happens in all players when it happens in one.

OK, try testing your mp3s with this

It allows recursive checking, take a look in the options to make sure it does not shift bad mp3s elsewhere.

did you try playing the mp3's on some other system or mp3 player , just in case that jriver program has permanently damaged the mp3's

even i had the same prob. in aimp after some audio driver updating...

i reinstalled aimp. and everything works smooth nw..

i know of a laptop @ work which does this same exact freaking thing, however happens only on Windows Media Player.......

Skype doesnt detect audio device / nor does yahoo or any other software.......Only solution , reboot and free the audio channel , the program that uses the audio channel 1st will run and any further , fail !...annoyance. No concrete solution yet

dxdiag shows hardware buffer error in sound tests

do this , disable windows sound themes and no sounds during windows logon etc.......shut down the pc , reboot it ..( shut down , dont restart ) .....after the machine is back on again - try the dxdiag test.......this is a driver problem ! and today i'm gonna be troubleshooting that laptop at work :@ will update if i find anything interesting abt the issue.....
