guys as the thread suggests i need to know the price of the sony cybershot dsc w350 in mumbai

one of my friends is coming from US he can get it for me for arnd 9K

on jjmehta it is arnd rs12800 on ebay also the ones with sony india 3 year warranty are goin for arnd 12500

others are selling it for arnd 9200 with 1 year delaer warranty

wht is the diff between dealer warranty and 3 year sony india warranty ?

i m reallly confused wether to get the camera from Us or get it from Ebay for arnd 9.2k

is it safe to get it from ebay from one of this sellers and whtr abt the warranty if anythng happens will i have to ship the product back to the dealer to claim the warranty.

guys plz advise .

Dealer warranty means it does not have official sony warranty in india .They will try repairing it them self or send it to the country where the product was originally purchased .The whole process can take 1 or 2 months .You have to surrender the product to the dealer.I would never go for dealer warranty.

Getting it with dealer warranty is same as getting it via your friend... Both of them will have no official warranty in India.

I personally would buy it from India with official warranty only.....

P.S. Why do u want W350 ??? If u'r looking to buy a camera in tht price range, I'd suggest Canon IXUS 120IS, much btr for the same price....

Camera from US does not hold any warranty in India.. However, there should be an option where you can pay Sony a maintenance charge if something goes bad...

imho go for official sony product with 3yr warranty. you could get it easily for 12k with all accessories. Dealer warranty is of no use as its mostly grey market stuff.
take a look at the following page it might help you- http://www.techenclave.com/show-off/sony-cybershot-dsc-w350-14-1megapix-163326.html

^^

dude how can we be sure tht the camera we brought has official sony india 3 years warranty ?

for every original 3-year warranty product you get the following document from sony india, which is signed, dated & stamped by the seller/dealer.This comes with the product itself.
i got the following , take a look below-

You would also get something similar to this if you get a genuine product which comes sealed packed & with tamper proof sony seal/hologram on the box.

hey guys thnks for u r replies but wht i m trying to figure out is the if i order the camera online say from here

Sony W350 Digital Camera + 4Gb Card + Pouch + 3yrs Wrnty at tradus.in

then how can i get the camera sealed packed coz the seller will have to open the box in order to stamp & sign the warranty document so i will be getting the camera in a box which is already open

dont u guys think it is a bit risky ?

please pardon me if the question sounds noobish

rocks777 if u have ordered the camera online then u can put some light on this

thanks

bye

^ well i bought my camera from a sony outlet in delhi, so have no idea about online sellers.
regarding your warranty document query, the warranty document is attached outside the box on the back side. So there is no need for the seller to open the seal of the box, which is in the form of a 3d SONY hologram.
