Sony HAndycam

for accessing media from sony handycam, a software named picture package is provided. But the problem with that is, it runs only in win XP.

Please guide me what other software options are available to make it work with vista..

By media i'm assuming u mean the video. For this i've been using pinnacle studio for a long time. There's also ulead video studio, give both of them a try n use the one u like. As for more advanced users there's Adobe Premiere Pro.
