freakin.. hav u seen its screen ratio? 2.08:1.. man its crazy i think.. how can u ever use somethin like tat.. ??
 
A pocket sized laptop that cannot make calls...:S ? What could it be used for?

I was thinking it could be used as a download rig but knowing Sony, you could probably buy two PCs for what they would charge for this pocket PC...after over hyping and and marketing this of course.
 
Sony's a joke. They price it all wrong and cripple the performance with their crapware. "It's a Sony" only for n00bs. Except for their TVs, most of their stuff is crap (given the price points, of course) or loaded with the same.

Edit: The linked product runs Vista. lol, how stupid can they get?
 
Looks good only for showoff[lots of it], but its too damn expensive they make stuff with the best quality control and charge the highest too, but in this case it is more of a fashion-lifestyle product rather than a portable-usability product.

Im not arguing that Sony's are the best but seriously they have never failed on me and i would have added an IMO to justify my post but im not cause i dont get it y can you make such a vague statement about a brand who covers almost every consumer electronic item on the book

Mind i put in SE and SOE too and u have a winner here :)
 
@ReekingArchville, yeah, I was generalizing a bit too much. But the SLRs, optical drives, PCs etc are priced way too high. Even their entry to mid range car audio systems are crap for the price.

Having used their underpowered and overpriced UMPCs with Vista and their Vaios with all the Sony crapware, I can definitely vouch for their competitor's vfm products.

The "It's a Sony" comment was made as there was a time when the name was enough. No more.

Having said that, I might get a PS3 myself :)
 
Sony is always the first choice for me, unless there's some compulsion.

SLRs - disagree. :) A300/A200 are the best VFM out there by far with their direct competition. A700 is serious value. A900 is FF @2500$ wonly, so much so that Canon had to down-price their 5D II to match it.

Lenses - agreed. But then the volumes are way too low. :D

Everywhere else, I agree with the pricing but that's what they're always charging for the strong brand equity that they have. Sometimes the price commanded is fair but most of the time its sheer brand and no product benefit.

As a business it works beautifully in a place like India. :D I know SO many families/uncles/aunties who'd just buy a "Sony".
 
I read a few articles on this, and definitely looks sweet. But its going to be ridiculously priced as usual. I really hope they come up with some product that is real VFM, and shakes up the market like a EEE
 
The is high no doubt, but its Sony - A lifestyle brand.

Secondly, that notebook is amazingly small / well designed / made of top notch materials supports 3G.

If u put in the pro's and cons u know what is that extra you are paying for.

My experience with Sony, I agree Sony is priced heavily but the materials that they use to make anything and everything is top notch, best available. When you see / touch you know that thing is expensive.

Check out the specs. Vista running on a 1.3 Ghz Atom processor :P

Someone check out a few reviews before fighting over how good or bad it is :bleh:

But then again, i'd buy it only if i had a million dollars :P

P.S. why are they targetting women (acc to that link posted above?.. do they think women are stupid?
